We had the good fortune of connecting with Mary Beth Wesley and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mary Beth, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
Integrity. This has been a huge part of building our business and interacting with our clients daily. We strive to keep our clients in the know and informed of what is going on with our business and pride ourselves in our ability to meet the needs of our clients as close to every time as possible.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I don’t think anyone who ever started their own business expected it to be easy! Ha!
Fifty Seven Bloom Co. was founded on variety. Offering our clients a wide variety for the most special days in their lives is something we are very proud of. We strive to give each client a beautiful, unique, custom-tailored experience when it comes to the florals they incorporate into any event.
I have leaned heavily on my family and tribe of people that I now consider family. Without them, I – the business – would still be trying to get off the ground!
The biggest lesson I have learned is to hear what the client is asking for and to recognize whether or not we will be able to deliver their vision. I love a challenge but am not shy about letting a client know if I think their vision is outside the scope of their budget or my abilities.
My great-grandfather, Willie Rumfield, registered the 57 brand for his herd of cattle in the early 1900s. Much like Heinz was known for having 57 varieties, his herd was never purebred cattle but was full of good, hardy, crossbred stock. The 57 cattle brand was passed from my great-grandfather to my grandfather to my father and now to me.
In true Mary Beth fashion, I have put a floral spin on this classic idea! As a girl who’s always been a lover of tradition, legacy, and history, I can’t think of a better way to carry my family through this journey with me. I am proud to continue a legacy of offering variety through a medium I have grown to be so passionate about.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband, for starters! He puts up with my wild ideas and dreams and never tells me I’m getting too big for my britches. He’s been through every step of the process with me, and I’m so grateful to have him as a sounding board.
Our combined families have played a major part in the behind-the-scenes operations of the business, from all-hands-on-deck weeks to helping with our kiddos.
My group of “flower girls” that have stepped in to help in many different seasons of the business. Each one has played a sweet role in how the business has grown! Emma, Ahna, Maddie, Saige, Emily, Samantha, Kaylee + Kylee.
