We had the good fortune of connecting with Mavi Rodriguez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mavi, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting my own business was like embarking on a thrilling adventure fueled by my passion and expertise, which I cultivated over 14 years as a patient coordinator for plastic surgeons. You see, during my time in that role, I witnessed firsthand the transformative power of plastic surgery. But I also saw the confusion and uncertainty that often accompanied the journey for patients.
My own experience as a patient coordinator served as a profound education, showing me both the incredible potential and the significant gaps in the industry. It became increasingly clear to me that people needed more than just technical expertise; they needed guidance, support, and a trusted partner to navigate the complexities of cosmetic procedures.
Driven by a deep-seated desire to make a difference, I decided to channel my knowledge and passion into something greater. I wanted to create a haven where individuals could feel empowered, informed, and supported throughout their plastic surgery journey. And so, armed with years of invaluable experience and a burning determination to improve the patient experience, I took the leap and founded my business.
It wasn’t just about business for me; it was about connecting with people, understanding their dreams and concerns, and guiding them towards the best possible outcomes. I wanted to redefine the plastic surgery experience, injecting it with empathy, education, and a genuine commitment to helping others feel confident and beautiful in their own skin.
What should our readers know about your business?
I’m passionate about empowering women to make informed decisions about plastic surgery and helping them achieve their dream bodies safely and confidently. What sets me apart is my dedication to providing personalized, luxury experiences for my clients, whether it’s through one-on-one coaching, or helping plastic surgeons launch their own shows with my podcast management services.
My journey hasn’t been without its challenges, but each obstacle has been an opportunity for growth. I’ve encountered skepticism and misconceptions about plastic surgery, but I’ve overcome these by staying true to my mission and educating others about the importance of safety, research, and informed decision-making.
I constantly have to help women deal with overcoming “mom guilt” about spending money on themselves for surgery. I reassure them that they are worth the investment. Investment not only financially but also with time and energy. It is okay to want to feel better about your body. There is something magical that happens when women love what they see in the mirror. They transform into the best versions of themselves. My goal is to help as many women as possible become their best selves with or without surgery.
One of the lessons I’ve learned along the way is the importance of authenticity and transparency. By sharing my own experiences and expertise openly, I’ve been able to build trust with my audience and create meaningful connections. My listeners are from all over the world, and I believe I am making an impact.
What I want the world to know about my brand is that it’s more than just about physical transformation; it’s about empowering women to feel confident, empowered, and in control of their own bodies. I’m proud of the impact I’ve made in helping women make positive changes in their lives, and I’m excited to continue to innovate and inspire.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
As a proud native of Houston, my love for food runs deep, I am a foodie and I firmly believe we have some of the best food in the country.
When it comes to barbecue, The Pit Room holds a special place in my heart. Their brisket is simply unmatched in flavor and tenderness. Ask for the burnt ends and you won’t be disappointed.
For Mexican cuisine, I have two top picks depending on the craving. El Tiempo is my go-to for Tex-Mex delights, particularly their sizzling fajitas that never disappoint. Alternatively, for a taste of authentic Mexican, Cuchara is the place to be, with dishes that transport you straight to Mexico.
And if you’re exploring the city, a visit to the museum district is a must. The butterfly exhibit is a sight to behold, and it’s a favorite destination for my kids, who are always captivated by the diverse exhibits on display.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a heartfelt shoutout to the fantastic plastic surgeons I had the honor of working with during my 14 years as a patient coordinator. Their expertise, guidance, and dedication to excellence didn’t just teach me professionally but also lit a fire in me to aim for the stars in my own pursuits.
And I can’t forget to mention my partner in crime, my mom. Her unwavering belief in my dreams and her constant support gave me the courage to chase after my entrepreneurial aspirations. She’s been my rock through it all, and I’m endlessly grateful for her love and encouragement.
