We had the good fortune of connecting with Mecca Evans and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mecca, what is the most important factor behind your success?
My brand is really centered around me being myself. I made my tiktok right when Covid hit. I was at home; bored and just making videos about anything that caught my attention. I think not giving myself a “niche” and talking about things that interest me is the reason my channel is relatable.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I think I’ve used my social media to overcome challenges that I’m facing in my actual day to day and professional life. I get home from work and vent to my followers. I talk like I’m on FaceTime with my friends, so if there is anything I want the world to know….. it’s that I value my followers as much as they value me.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Houston is good for a good time. Grooves on a Friday for Happy Hour. Chapman and Kirby on a Sunday Funday. I love Kiss, the food is bomb and they drinks are HEAVY.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My friends inspire me, I’ve really surrounded myself with a group of boss ladies somehow who get me. One time for the Think Tank.
