We had the good fortune of connecting with Megan Che and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Megan, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I started the business to become independent and follow my passion. I started working as an accountant for a company in down town Houston. The job become more repetitive, so I want to be innovative and independent. I have worked in the tea shop for few years when I fishing by bachelor degree, and I was good at and happy when I was working there. I finally quitted my job to tried out a new business. There was a risk I have to take opening the business, but like school work, you have to spend the time and effort to researching the business and what it will reward. I felt the reward was worth the risk the time and investment I put in. Once you put your mind into it, you needed to follow through and be learning and adapting to the customer.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
MTea & Coffee is a contemporary and modern Milk Tea, Coffee and Boba. We carefully study the community to bring you the most flavor and excited drinks. We created everything from scratch and keep the quality at our best. We are proud to be part of Houston and Sugar Land community and we love to give back to our community.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would love to bring them to Chinatown and Little Saigon that basically next to each other. That were you got the most specially Asian food and drinks. Next, Sugar Land is the suburban of Houston and very nice and quiet place to enjoy walk on the park and hangout on the lake. Mid town is where night life is happening so if you want to have a drink and play games. And don’t forget there are plenty of boba tea in Houston and surrounding area, you can actually do Milk Tea jumping across Houston to find your best bubble tea.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout to my family including my mom, brother, and my husband for their support.
