We had the good fortune of connecting with Meghan Warren and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Meghan, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
For the pure JOY it gives people! There is nothing like seeing the face of a 5 year old light up when they sees their favorite character at their birthday party or the intimacy and flow of emotion when a husband has planned a milestone birthday party for his wife! We must always remember to CELEBRATE the large and small victories in our lives….and everything in between!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have worked in the event industry for close to 25 years…starting with golf courses and food service, receiving my Bachelors Degree in Hotel, Restaurant & Institutional Management, working my way up the corporate ladder of event planner in a major hotel chain and then deciding to leave it all to work for a non profit. I had done everything from wedding planning to hosting SuperBowl teams and was great at my job, but there was always something missing. Once I left corporate for a local non-profit, I started to feel the passion again with the connection to guest, hosts, volunteers and how you can make something incredible with meaningful touches. We then had the opportunity to move overseas and that is where I started MW Events. My family and I lived on the island of Guam for 12 years and there my passion was ignited with small family gatherings, beachside receptions and so many birthday parties…family was everything on island and they loved to celebrate! I transferred my passion back to the mainland and began to grown my business based on the new trends.

The process can be challenging and time consuming and right now my dining room table is covered in a variety of “all things pink” as I prepare for a birthday party, BUT what always keeps me going is how me, just little ole me that has a knack for planning parties, can make something so special and memorable for someone!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I just love Montgomery…close to the city, but so quiet when you need it to be. I would definitely balance my trip with a little bit of each….A long walk down The Woodlands Waterway, Brunch at Snooze or State Fare in The Woodlands, Renting a Boat on Lake Conroe followed by beers at B52 Brewery, a peaceful ride out to Bernhardt Winery for a Sunday Concert.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
By far my FAMILY-Most of my parties specialize in childrens events and they truly are my inspiration! Creatively I use them for new ideas, themes and trends – – they love to be hands on whenever possible. My husband and children are so supportive of my passion for parties and understand when I can’t be at every soccer game, dinner or other activity, but absolutely know they are the most important people in my lives!
