We had the good fortune of connecting with Melissa Batt and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Melissa, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
That’s a great question! For me, knowing when to keep going or to give up always comes back to faith—seeking God’s clarity and checking whether my path aligns with His vision for me. I also believe in the power of seeking wisdom from trusted mentors or coaches, as they can help provide perspective and guidance when making big decisions. It’s crucial to have someone who can offer insight and support, especially when you’re uncertain about your next step.
I remember considering walking away from a career I had loved and excelled in for over 10 years. As I prayed, God led me to dig deeper into the “why” behind my desire to quit. What I realized was that I was comparing my current season to past seasons and getting distracted by others’ successes. I was uncomfortable with the behind-the-scenes work I was doing, missing the instant gratification and accolades that came with being more visible. Comparing myself to others or my previous seasons was never a good reason to quit.
About a year later, the urge to resign came again, but this time I knew it was the right time. It wasn’t because I was failing—in fact, I was in one of the best sales seasons of my career. The decision came when I recognized that I only had so much time in a day. I had to eliminate what no longer aligned with where I felt God was leading me, and that’s what led me to step away from my successful career and go all-in as a Christian Life Coach.
What should our readers know about your business?
I’m a Christian Life Coach, and my mission is to help overwhelmed women move from merely surviving to thriving with intention and purpose. What sets me apart is my holistic approach, rooted in faith, that addresses both mental health struggles and spiritual growth. I help women eliminate distractions, build confidence, and find focus as they align their lives with God’s calling.
Getting to this point wasn’t easy. I transitioned from a successful career in direct sales to coaching, and while I had always loved helping others, making it a business came with its challenges. There were financial uncertainties, moments of imposter syndrome, and plenty of times I stepped outside my comfort zone. But through it all, I leaned on my faith and trusted God to guide me.
One key lesson I’ve learned is the power of consistency. Small, intentional steps lead to big, lasting change. I’ve learned that transformation doesn’t come from shortcuts—it comes from staying true to your calling and trusting the process.
I’m most proud of helping women break free from anxiety and self-doubt so they can step into their true purpose. Watching a woman regain confidence, find focus, and start living intentionally is incredibly rewarding.
What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that I’m passionate about seeing women thrive—mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. By eliminating distractions and aligning with God’s plan, we don’t just survive; we flourish. My mission is to help women live fully, trust the journey, and walk confidently in their calling.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting for a week, I’d definitely show them a mix of outdoor adventure, local culture, and relaxing time at home. We’d start with a relaxing day at my place—grilling burgers or chicken on the back deck, playing games, and just enjoying time together. But we’d also make sure to explore the area!
One of the first stops would be Red River Gorge for some outdoor adventure. Whether we’re hiking, enjoying scenic views, or just exploring the beauty of the area, it’s a great way to take in Kentucky’s natural beauty.
We’d also visit The Ark Encounter in Williamstown. It’s such an inspiring and unique experience, especially if you’ve never been. We’d spend a day there, taking in the historical exhibits and learning more about the biblical story of Noah’s Ark.
Of course, we’d have to check out the Lexington Farmers Market for some local flavor. It’s the perfect place to grab fresh produce, meet local vendors, and enjoy the lively atmosphere.
I’d also take us to a few local favorites like The Rooster in Georgetown for pizza and great salads and Drake’s in Lexington for a great burger! There’s so much to see and do here, but I’d make sure we balance it all with time to relax and just enjoy the company!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many people and experiences that have contributed to me getting to where I am today, and I’m incredibly grateful for each of them. One area that often gets a bad reputation but plays a pivotal role in my growth is the direct sales industry.
While I’m no longer in the field, I spent many years as a top leader in direct sales, and it was through that journey that I learned to push past my comfort zone, face my fears head-on, and become a better leader. I also discovered that my mission to impact women didn’t need to be put on hold while my kids were young. Anyone who knew me before I started my direct sales career would tell you I am a completely different person now—confident, self-aware, and focused on helping others grow.
I also want to give a shout-out to Kevin Moore, the youth pastor at my church over 20 years ago, who invited me to lead a small group of middle school girls. At the time, I didn’t see the leadership potential in myself, but he did. That invitation planted a seed that’s only continued to grow, and I’ve been passionate about mentoring teenage girls and women around their faith ever since.
Additionally, two books have had a significant impact on me: Free to Focus by Michael Hyatt and Rhythms of Renewal by Rebekah Lyons. As someone with ADHD, I’ve always struggled with focus and planning. Free to Focus helped me shift from a reactive, disorganized approach to one of intentional living. I learned that when you can plan, you can focus and complete everything on your to-do list. Rhythms of Renewal was a game-changer in understanding the importance of rest. I’ve always worn “hustling” as a badge of honor, but this book helped me realize that rest isn’t laziness—it’s essential for living sustainably and thriving long-term.
Lastly, I’d like to recognize the many women who have trusted me to walk alongside them on their journeys. Their courage, openness, and determination inspire me every day to show up fully in my work. They are a huge part of why I do what I do, and I’m constantly amazed at the strength and breakthroughs they experience.
