We had the good fortune of connecting with Melvin Pruitt and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Melvin, why did you pursue a creative career?
I just like creating with my hands. I see it in my head before I create with my hands.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Well I am Houston base black own company that is trying create the most luxurious and beautiful bracelets that I can. I can literally invision in my mind what I’m going to do and what it’s going to look like when I’m complete. My goal Is to create timeless luxury bracelets. When a customer opens the box I really want them to be blown away by what they see! And once that has happen it gives me a sense of fulfillment.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
After Brunch time chicken and waffles at La Lucha the best I have ever tasted. And fine dining David Street and for the best bar b que on this side of heaven THE PIT ROOM! After that, that’s all I have!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would say my wife and honestly the holy spirit. And that’s the truth just in my regular thought I always say something told me to it this way are something told me to not let go. My dad always informs me “that something has a name” so the holy spirit!
