We had the good fortune of connecting with Mia Muhyee and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mia, can you tell us about an impactful book you’ve read and why you liked it or what impact it had on you?
Limitless by Jim Kwik – This book changed my life by allowing me to unlock the limitations of my mind. You can’t reach your full potential with a limited mindset and you can’t grow inside your comfort zone. This book showed me that I can change my life just by changing the way that I think. There are also many interactive exercises throughout the book that help keep the reader engaged.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am the owner of Five Pillar Productions, a digital marketing company based in Houston, Texas. We specialize in brand aesthetic and offer a variety of services such as website design and logo animation to optimize performance.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My friends visit me in the city often and I always take them to my favorite coffee shop – Empire cafe. Whether you work remotely like me, or just need to grab a bite to eat its the perfect spot. They have great coffee and a surprisingly broad menu. Spending time outside and getting some fresh air is great as Houston has so many beautiful parks and hiking trails to offer. I would also love to get active and take them to Black Swan Yoga, where all the classes are donation based. They offer a guided hot yoga class right next door to Earthcraft Juicery – with some of the best açaí bowls I’ve ever tasted. We could spend a whole day exploring all the museums in Houston, as they have free general admission on Thursdays. Night life is a big part of the city’s culture, whether we go hit Washington street for a bite to eat or float down to the strip of bars in Midtown – Houston comes alive at night.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My greatest mentor in my entrepreneurial journey has definitely been Todd Edwards. He has always offered his valuable perspective and pushed me to reach my highest potential. I owe him everything.
