Meet MíAysia Strong | Artist, Muse, Mí

We had the good fortune of connecting with MíAysia Strong and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi MíAysia, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I think about risks as opportunities. Usually, when you have to take risks, there’s something bigger waiting on the other side that’s SO worth it. The biggest risk I take everyday is continuing to bet on myself. I had to risk my livelihood to start my own business, but the reward of having something I could call my own, working for myself, and the financial freedom in the long run was bigger. It might take some time and hard work, but that’s how bad I want that for myself.
Having a service-based business is a challenge because you have to rely on others to keep yourself running, essentially. You have to build a name for yourself, based on clientele experiences, and keep them coming back. Personally, I am doing that, from square one, for the THIRD time now. I took a huge risk and moved to HTX from Michigan about a month ago. I had so many people asking me why I would do that, knowing I would have to start over again. I have always wanted to move away from home and experience something different, and I knew that If I did it once starting off, even better moving to a new city, that I’d have no choice but to dominate in a new state! It is all about mindset, you can’t be afraid of the risks you take. You have to claim what you want, see what you want and make it happen!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My business is called Muse and I describe what I offer as “Enhancements for the Natural Beauty”. I offer a variety of different services that help people feel more confident, unique, and beautiful. I feel that my service and energy is what sets me apart from others that do the same things. I pride myself on giving a relaxing and inspiring experience. I view everyone as a source of inspiration, or my Muse, and I want all of my clients to leave being their own muse. The goal is ultimately more self-love!
I’ve gotten to this point being inspired by things I love and just being unapologetically myself. I have a fascination for eyebrows, I love art, Frida Kahlo being my favorite artist, Im super passionate about dance and I have always wanted to stand out by being different and unconventional. I have so many layers that I can pull back, but I’m ultimately a creative. I’ve learned to just embrace it! It is not easy at all. I’m often confused, indecisive and always challenging myself with new ideas. My biggest challenge lately, is managing stress. I have an autoimmune disorder that doesn’t perceive stress well, so the ultimate fight against my body. On my worst days I feel defeated and my confidence is shot, but I overcome by starting with a fresh outlook every single day. I can’t give up on myself.
The biggest thing I’ve learned so far is to be patient with myself, give myself grace and keep going. I think we all want things that we aren’t quite ready for, but we have to keep working towards. You have to learn to love, listen to, and take care of yourself along the way. More than that, you have to be inspired by yourself, be your own Muse!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my bestie was in town I’m definitely taking her to Montrose to find some cute spots to eat! We’re visiting all of the lash shops out here to buy supplies and Im taking her to all of my favorite boutiques to shop! I’m still exploring the city myself so I’m sure that she would have some things on her checklist that we would check out together. Above all we both love food so we would be eating A LOT!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my partner in life and love, my backbone & support, my FIANCÉ, Timothy Williams Jr. My story isn’t complete without you by my side. You are such a big part and it’s not about just where I am but it’s where WE are. Most times you are my strength. You’ve motivated and invested into me since day 1 and I can’t thank you enough. Lately, I think we both look up and can’t believe the life we created so far… It’s only up from here!
