We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Hugley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michael, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
My favorite affirmation would have to be my favorite bible verse, which is Psalm 16:8. It says, “I keep in mind the Lord always, because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken (HCSB) “. The right hand of God represents authority and strength, so for me, this verse encourages me to know that whatever trials and tribulations I endure, I will always be okay if I keep God at the helm of my life.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am a realtor here in Houston. To set me apart from others, I would say my drive, passion, and humility. For me, it is about helping my clients achieve their goals in the best way I can, whether it be helping them find their dream home or selling their home, so they can find another. I pride myself on being the real estate expert that can fit the needs of any client like a glove.

It certainly has not been easy to get where I am. I always tell myself that slow and steady wins the race, so I know if I am just consistent, then things will start to pickup. You just have to keep working even when you are not seeing results because you never know how close you are to your breakthrough, and it is important to realize that the same day you plant the seed is not the same day you get the fruit.

Along the way I have learned that every one wants to be successful, but few are willing to take the road less traveled to get there. A lot of life’s mantras prove true, because nothing worth having comes easy.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love greenery, so one of the first activities I would do is Treeventures. It’s an aerial adventure course, located in the Woodlands. I think that would be a really fun activity! Being that I am from Los Angeles, I would definitely have to take them down to Surfside Beach! Next, I think we’d go to Seismique Museum and Houston Musuem of Fine Arts to check out the amazing things they have there. We would have to get some food from the Breakfast Klub, The Pit Room, and some food trucks.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shoutout my parents! They did a magnificent job of raising me and laying a solid foundation, which has led me to where I am today. Without all the wisdom they have given to me, I would not be in the position I am in, so I thank them for everything, but more importantly for always supporting my dreams. Also, I want to shoutout my siblings, because their belief in me to be successful has always encouraged me to keep pushing even when things get rough.
