We had the good fortune of connecting with Michelle Costello and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michelle, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?

The end goal for me is to be the best role model, foster parent, wife, entrepreneur and small business owner. The end goal for Dō Beverage is to have a total of 2-3 locations in Houston and continue to serve healthy beverages and bakery items for customers on the go.

The other two locations will be smaller locations like carts or kiosks focusing more on beverages and pre-packaged healthy bakery items. Dō Beverage is a delivery only food & beverage shop that serve hot & fresh mini donuts, chocolate mini donuts, funnel cakes, mini donut parfaits and delicious varieties of beverages.

I always been an entrepreneur with many different jobs and side gigs. The one job or position that prepared me to get to where I am today is a food delivery driver. Being a food delivery driver, gave me the tools to perfect my customer service skills.

Where I want to be professionally by the end of my career is to be an Executive Producer (EP) for TV/Film and an Adjunct Professor teaching Entrepreneurship. Having a love for TV/Film and a few years of experience being a Production Assistant (PA), Associate Producer (AP) and Background (Extra) will help me get to the next level of being a future EP. Having two years of being an Adjunct Professor and four years of being a Substitute Teacher will help me get back to doing what I love which is being an Educator.

What should our readers know about your business?
Dō Beverage is more than just bakery items and beverages. It is about a food & beverage shop that is changing with the times. I adopted the cloud kitchen concept due to technology changing every second. I’m a cloud kitchen inside a mall environment. I’m changing minds one order at a time.

Customers are used to going to the mall, visiting the food court to look at a menu or a display of food, ordering and paying for their items with cash. When customers stop by my restaurant, they do not see a menu, display of food or even a register because you have to view the menu, order and pay online.

I ask customers if they order food delivery at work or at home and when they tell me yes, then I say it is the same process when you order my products online.  I have a checkout area that consists of a tablet on a stand where customers can place their order online if they do not bring their phones or if their phone data is running slow. Having this kiosk will give customers that feeling of standing in line at a register while placing their order online.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m a little embarrass because I’ve been here almost two years and have not really toured Houston like I wanted. I must admit I drive to San Antonio and Austin more than I do Houston. I’m a theme park type of person so I would go to Sea World, the Zoo and the Riverwalk which is located in San Antonio. I will have my friends come to my restaurant and will fix them mini donuts and drinks.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to Shoutout to all the people who I have over 20 years of friendship and who also stayed by my side through my up and downs. Too many to name but you know who you are.
