We had the good fortune of connecting with Michelle N Briggs, Realtor® and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michelle N, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
With two decades of experience in the title industry, I have cultivated a deep understanding of the intricate processes involved in real estate transactions, and I am passionate about bringing that expertise to both buyers and sellers. Over the years, I have successfully facilitated thousands of residential transactions, often working alongside Realtors who were unfamiliar with the critical role of title companies or the details of the documents their clients were signing.
My extensive background means I not only understand the title process inside and out, but I am also equipped to review title commitments with my clients. This comprehensive knowledge allows me to guide individuals and families on their journey toward homeownership, ensuring they understand each step of the process in pursuit of the “American Dream.”
Additionally, with over 20 years of experience in the real estate industry, I have reviewed thousands of earnest money contracts. In my role as a Realtor, I work directly with my clients to assist with initial contract reviews and ensure informed decisions during the acceptance process. Understanding each section of an earnest money contract is critical for both buyers and sellers—missing a single date or detail can result in a breach of contract. I am dedicated to guiding my clients through these complexities, helping them avoid potential pitfalls and ensuring a smooth, successful transaction from start to finish.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart from other Realtors is my commitment to providing my clients with a clear understanding of the entire real estate process—from start to finish. Part of my mission is to create the space for you to feel confident and informed every step of the way. With 20 years of experience in the real estate industry, I’ve seen firsthand how many Realtors lack a deep understanding of the full home purchase and sale process, including critical details like reading a title commitment and fully explaining the closing process.
I believe these are essential skills, especially for first-time homebuyers who are navigating unfamiliar territory. My goal is to ensure that you not only have the information you need but that you truly understand each step, empowering you to make informed decisions. Whether it is guiding you through the complexities of finding the right home or helping you feel comfortable with the negotiating process, I am here to offer expertise that goes beyond the standard transaction, providing you with the knowledge to succeed in your real estate journey.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love planning trips and outings for friends or family when they are in town. We all love the outdoors, so Discovery Green, grabbing lunch at The Grove and/or the Arboretum with lunch an Uptown Sushi, are great ways to start the visit. We would shop 19th Street in the Heights, visiting to say hello to Shandy at Shandy’s and end the evening with dinner at Plonk, which has the best Charcuterie Board (say Hi to Jen!). Another great quaint restaurant is Elliot’s table, make reservations, very intimate and divine. Depending on the time of year, we would go to Eleanora’s and Urban Harvest Farmer’s Markets to make farm to table meal at home. We do enjoy sharing Kristen’s, The Barking Pig, Thursday night steak night, grilled to perfection and a place just to hang out for an adult beverage would be The Post off of main, laid-back vibe and they know their wine. I cannot leave out Lake Livingston, TX at our lake home for the weekend.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to take a moment to give a heartfelt shoutout to those who have been instrumental in supporting my real estate career. First and foremost, a huge thank you to my broker, Amy Hartmann, whose guidance, mentorship, and unwavering support have been invaluable in helping me grow both professionally and personally. I’m truly grateful for her leadership and the opportunities she’s provided.
I also want to acknowledge my amazing family, whose encouragement and belief in me have been a constant source of strength. To my friends, clients, and everyone who has referred me over the years—thank you! An overwhelming 95% of my business comes from referrals, and I am incredibly grateful for the trust you’ve placed in me. Your support means the world, and I look forward to continuing to serve this wonderful community for many years to come.

Clearly, I need professional pictures so I am not sure if the uploads will work. If not, let me know and I will get with Sarah Gassman. Full body picture in purple was taken by Sarah Gassman, Gassman Photography. All others are while I was networking or taken by myself.
