We had the good fortune of connecting with Miri Teresa and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Miri, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
There are a few habits I’ve learned along the way that have helped me propel to new heights. The first was courage. Courage to believe that what you see in your future, you can achieve. There are many fears in this world and if you believe them, you will dwell in your life. The moment I learned to boldly confront my fears, I started weighting my options between what will lead me there and what will push me further away. I then choose steps that got me closer to where I wanted to be. The next is consistency. Staying focused and continuing to move forward is key. If you recognize your habits make your lifestyle you will realize that consistently making actions towards the goals you set are the vital towards your best self.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
MAP KEEPERS DAY INC. an organization that travels across the world honoring those who fought for our right to breathe. This movement is a map of honor courage and liberty. As we speak of veterans and military forces, we connect the information with arts and community so that we can unite and gain knowledge from each other. This organization is dear to me because it reflects my late father’s imprint on the earth. Michael Anthony Patrick was a man who believed that each person matters and we honor those who are forgotten, forsaken and often times taken for granted. For that, MAP KEEPERS Day unites with organizations like iMiTs Art, iMPACT:iAm The Movement and Rosette Enterprises to be the change we want to see. Art therapy for veterans, community murals for youth. It’s about building togetherness and letting the world know the power of unified efforts

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I had a chance to share the city life, I would certainly take them to Houston Maritime Museum where the first map is on display. It is a space where one could learn all about the travels and ships around the world. They have awesome boats and displays to die for. then Buffalo Soldiers Museum where the signing of the Ledger of Legends is located. It is a mass record of all the veterans to date that have signed the map. Lastly but definitely not least, I would take them to the iAm Collective. It’s an establishment where creatives can experience arts and music and podcasting from a vast genre of artist.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would always like to shout out iDivine Consulting and iMPACT iAm the Movement. They helped me see what I was capable of achieving and assisted me every step along the way. It’s good to build bonds along the way.
