We had the good fortune of connecting with Mo Dawodu and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mo, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I started with making videos that were compilations of different animations with my voiceovers over them. After a while I wanted to create real videos so I purchased my first camera. This led me into doing videography and photography. I started doing photography more often and realized how exciting it could be. I began brainstorming names for what my photography/videography business could be called and finally created Mo Media.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m most proud of my work when it comes out the exact way I envisioned it in my head. That’s always the best feeling. It was through trial and error that I got where I am today. It wasn’t easy, but it didn’t feel hard because I love what I do. I learned that I feel the best whenever I’m helping someone achieve a vision, whether its a client, friend or even myself. I want the world to know that I’m here to create!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to all my favorite spots for sure! Definitely would eat out and try all types of food. Hit up a few bars that have DJs. There would also be nights out to boiler rooms, art exhibits and much more. We would probably go to anywhere that has good music and food.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are multiple people that I would like to give shoutouts to: Chubu, Ryan, Jeff, Kam, Sarah, J Vince and much more. These individuals really helped start my photography/videography journey and also maintain it. I appreciate everyone thats been a part of this journey and can’t wait to meet more people!
