We had the good fortune of connecting with Monique Graham and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Monique, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
In a world where life pulls you in many directions I needed an outlet to express my creativity. What started as a release turned into a passion and eventually a product which is now a business.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am currently a program manager for a school district. I oversee the implementation of enrichment programming across elementary and secondary campuses.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I have an entire excel sheet for things like this. As a California native I always have someone coming into town. What I’ve learned since moving to Houston is brunch is a must. I absolutely LOVE the Breakfast Klub, Kiss, and Thirteen. The atmosphere is always great. However you cannot leave Houston without visiting the Address.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Jasmine Graham, my older sister. She inspired me to take a leap of faith and turn my passion into a business as she owns a print company designing custom apparel and souvenirs while also owning a balloon decorating business.
