Meet Muhammad Zubair

We had the good fortune of connecting with Muhammad Zubair and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Muhammad, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I started my own kitchen and bath design studio because I wanted creative freedom and control over every detail of the design process. After years of working with different companies, I realized that clients appreciate personal attention and honest communication.
I wanted to build something where design isn’t just about looks but about how people actually live and use their space. Starting my own business gave me the freedom to focus on functionality, precision, and customization, without shortcuts.
It was less about being my own boss and more about delivering the kind of work I truly believe in
thoughtful design that improves everyday living.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Zubair Kitchens is all about creating functional and personalized spaces. I focus on kitchen and bath design, with every project built around how the client actually lives, not just how it looks in a photo.
What sets me apart is the process. I spend time understanding the client’s habits, layout needs, and flow before touching design software. Every line in my drawings has a purpose. I also use high-quality 3D rendering so clients can visualize the final result clearly before we start.
Getting here wasn’t easy. Starting out on my own meant handling design, communication, and business all at once. There were slow months, rejections, and times when it felt impossible to grow, but staying consistent, focusing on quality, and never cutting corners helped me build trust and long-term clients.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that good design doesn’t come from trends; it comes from listening.
What I want people to know about Zubair Kitchens is that it’s not just another design studio. It’s built on real collaboration, honesty, and the goal of making every space both beautiful and practical.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting Lahore, I’d start the trip with breakfast at Chaaye Khana or English Tea House — good food and calm vibe to settle in.
Then I would take them to the old city, Badshahi Mosque, Lahore Fort, and Shahi Hammam. You can’t skip that part of Lahore; it’s where the city’s real character lives.
For lunch, we’d head to Cuckoo’s Den or Andaaz, both with rooftop views of the Fort. Evenings are for M.M. Alam Road cafes, music, and people watching.
By the way, Food-wise, Lahore’s street food has no competition.
By the end of the week, they’d understand why people say Lahore never sleeps it’s the mix of history, food, and energy that keeps it alive.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would give credit to the people who trusted me early on. The clients who believed in my work before I even had a proper setup.
Their trust pushed me to keep improving.
Also, a few senior designers I worked with in my early years they helped me how should I approach detail and functionality. Watching how they balanced design with real-world use taught me a lot.
And of course, my family, they’ve always been the quiet support in the background, making it easier for me to focus on what I love doing every day.
