Meet Mya Seriki

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mya Seriki and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mya, why did you pursue a creative career?
I’ve always been drawn to the creative world. All my life, I’ve been involved in entertainment and performance—singing, dancing, acting, content creation etc. I always knew I’d be in this space; I just wasn’t sure in what capacity. Even now, I still hope to explore it all.
Modeling has given me a space where I truly thrive and feel completely myself. It allows me to become art and represent creativity in a way that’s fulfilling and inspiring. I love being able to make people happy through art and creation—it’s such a beautiful thing to take a concept from one person’s mind and present it to others in a meaningful, creative package.
I’m so grateful to have found this space. I hope to stay here for a long time, continuing to create and connect through it.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Getting into modeling was a dream opportunity that fell into my lap. I’ve always been into fashion and photography, having my sister and friends take photos of me for Instagram and Pinterest for years. People would often commend my poses and confidence, even asking me for advice. For me, it was always just fun—I never imagined where it could take me. This all led to one Instagram DM from a super talented designer, inviting me to collaborate on my first ever shoot. Now, I’m an editorial model working on creative, fashion, and beauty projects. I’m still eternally grateful.
What sets me apart, from what I’ve been told and what I believe, is my enthusiasm for thinking outside the box to create art. Whether it’s through creative poses, styling, or concepts, I’m always striving to bring something unique to the table. The work I’ve been able to do so far has been incredible. While it hasn’t always been easy, I’d be lying if I said this journey hasn’t been full of favor. In this short period, I’ve found myself in photoshoots, fashion shows and projects I could have never imagined this time last year.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is to always stay true to yourself. Don’t take on projects that don’t align with your values just because you think that’s what people want to see. Authenticity always shines through, and when you’re true to yourself and your vision, the world recognizes that and rewards it.
I want the world to know that I’m just getting started—there’s so much more to come. I’m deeply grateful for the support I’ve received so far and can’t wait to see where this journey takes me. If you’re not tapped in yet, now’s the time to invest in MY5A stocks—big things are on the way!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Despite living here for a few years now, I constantly feel like I’m still discovering new things about this city. At heart, I still love the touristy spots—don’t judge me, but we’re definitely going to the POST and the Galleria. The POST is perfect for seeing the city skyline, which I LOVE, and the Galleria is such a fun people-watching spot. We’d also take a trip to Galveston Beach. I know it gets a bad rap, but I genuinely enjoy going there. I’m not the biggest foodie, but after traveling to other cities, I’ve realized how much I take the amazing food here for granted. So, any tour of the city would have to include stops at some of the diverse food spots Houston has to offer.
To end the night, we’d probably go to Bald Kitty. I love the artsy vibe there—it’s such a cool, creative space to hang out and appreciate in the local scene.
It’d be a mix of classic touristy fun, good food and unique experiences that hopefully show what makes this city special.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would be nowhere without my family. My mom has always encouraged my creativity and nurtured my skills and confidence—she’s truly the best momager anyone could ask for. My sister is my biggest supporter in everything I do, constantly giving me advice, styling tips, and endless encouragement. My brother is like my brain in human form, keeping up with every single one of my thoughts and telling everyone he knows about me. And my dad, who never missed a chance to brag about me—I hope I’m still making him proud.
