We had the good fortune of connecting with Myesha “MrsD” Daniels and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Myesha “MrsD”, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Owning my own Eyelash Studio was always the goal, but starting my lash company happened abruptly. I was working at a lash salon where I was doing well professionally and building a great clientele but as an employee there it was becoming increasingly difficult. So the day that I finally decided to stand up for myself after being walked all over was the day I lost my job. So the very next day when I woke up I decided that I was tired of being overworked and underpaid so my thought process was well if not now then when would there be a better time to become my own boss. I was definitely nervous but more than anything else I was motivated. The scariest part was that even though I had built up a nice clientele where I previously was I also knew that I would not be able to directly take them with me due to a “non-compete”clause that I signed as part of my previous hiring contract. I had to start completely over from scratch but I also hoped that some of my previous clients would find me on their own. The only thing I had to go on was faith and my 5yrs of lash artist abilities. I am a person who believes that things happen in perfect timing and sometimes things have to fall apart to come back together for the better so my journey into entrepreneurship was no different. As of May 26 2022 I will have made it through my first year as a business owner and saying that I LOVE IT is an understatement. I wouldn’t have it any other way, within this year I have built up a very nice clientele and a nice following on my business Instagram page as well as becoming a permanent makeup artist. My business is flourishing and I’m taking steps daily to become a household name in the Eyelash Extension industry as well as the beauty industry as a whole. I’m not saying that there won’t be difficult times and stressful days, but what I am saying is that it’s beyond worth it! Best Decision EVER!!!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Lashed TF Out by MrsD is my baby, it’s my brand it’s my business and it’s what I do. I will “Lash you TF Out” effortlessly, but I also specialize in healthy lashes. What sets me apart from other lash artists is that I love to educate my clients on lash extensions & healthy natural lashes by letting them know what to expect from me & all good lash artists while explaining the process to them during their consultations. I also answer any & all questions that they may have.

I don’t believe in just sitting someone in my chair and rushing them out. I take my time with each & every client and I have a nice relaxing vibe in my studio so it’s very welcoming. I have aromatherapy oils flowing from my diffuser, a candle burning, an extremely comfortable recliner & soft warm blanket and don’t forget my AMAZING playlists in the background for ambiance. What make my business stand out even more is that I lash my clients in the dark with only 2 small ring lights above my clients face. This ensures that not only are my clients able to relax and get some great naps in or some great conversation but also I am able to focus solely on their lashes in the best lighting you could ever imagine. I make sure that my clients leave beautiful, happy and well rested. I enjoy & love all of my clients, I can somehow relate to every single one of them. I also have every client sign my “Lash Wall of Fame” after their first lash appointment with me, it was my way of having tangible growth of my business. And before you ask “Yes I can do lashes with these nails. Lol

I’ve been a Lash artist for 5.5yrs & Im 4 times certified in Eyelash Extensions so as a Lash Trainer I thoroughly train my Lash Extension students. I learned so many different things, tips and techniques from each person that I trained with. As a result of that I have been able to provide these new lash artists with information that took me 4.5yrs & 4 expensive lash courses to learn. I also learned a lot about how and how not to run a lash business from my experiences while working at 3 different lash companies, I can honestly say working for other people before going out on my own definitely prepared & motivated me to go on my own.

I’m a licensed esthetician and 2 times certified Permanent Makeup Artist (PMU) so I offer Lip Blushing as well as Ombré Brow Shading which will soon be listed under Beauty by MrsD Starting June 1st 2022 which is a subsidiary of Lashed TF Out by MrsD.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Whenever I have friends or family visiting it’s all about fun and food for me, I would take them to an awesome arcade or a rooftop movie, Selfie museums are always great for making memories, if they’re in the mood to shop I’d take them to the woodlands area. But when it’s time to party we go to Kamp Houston or Prospect Park maybe even Belle Station or Phil&Dereks who can do no wrong in the food/drinks or vibe area. When it comes to brunch if it’s about the food then Snooze AM & Black Walnut Cafe are my go to’s but for the turn up Lost & Found or Kamp Houston. For a nice steakhouse Steak48 or Vick & Anthony.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mom is my biggest motivation, unfortunately I lost her December 2020 due to heart failure, but she was always telling me that she couldn’t wait until I started my own Eyelash Extension company. She would always tell me that she knew I would do great on my own as a lash artist & business owner because “I naturally had what it takes to make it”. I would always tell her “mom one day I will I’m just don’t think I’m read yet”, but her, God & the universe had other plans for me because 5 months later I had no choice but to be ready. Sometimes people can see things in you that you can’t quite see or understand yourself. The loss of my mom was so hard but knowing that she believed in me so much made me believe in myself more. I have an amazing support system in my beautifully amazing wife Tierra and my big brother Julius & my friends who all love me and keep me grounded while simultaneously uplifting me. Without them I don’t know who or where I’d be today.
