We had the good fortune of connecting with Nancy Leeds Gribble and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nancy Leeds, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
One of the most important factors behind my success and the success of my brand is that I truly believe it all starts with love – a love for ourselves, our health, our life. I coach from the perspective of “what’s right with you” and not “what’s wrong with you that needs to be fixed”. We didn’t get as far as did not knowing how to achieve things in our life, but somewhere along the line taking care of ourselves got put on the back burner, for many different reasons. My clients are women over 40 who want to reclaim feeling their absolute best and create a body and life they love living in. I believe in what is possible for many of my clients, even before they do, and love to hold that vision for them and watch them achieve what they once thought was impossible. They know I care about them, their journey, and getting the results they desire. I have one main goal and that is to get them to theirs!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a Healthy Lifestyle Expert/Weight Loss Specialist. I work with women over 40 and help them kill the F.A.T. – not just on their body but the False Assumed Truths (too old, too busy, tried it all before, hormones, etc.) that hold them back. I know that weight loss, and living our lives to the fullest, starts in the mind and then the actions follow. When I work with my clients it is never about deprivation but abundance and how to end the self-sabotage, diet mentality and create habits that achieve their goals and are sustainable. My personal journey into building my business was met with many trials, as most entrepreneurs will agree…there is a whole lot more to it than simply doing the work we love. I have had to approach building my business the same way I ask my clients to approach their health and weight loss, one day at a time. Focus on daily behaviors, be ok with failing (it means you are trying), pivot when needed, and remember to have fun! And just don’t quit! It can all feel overwhelming at times but when I remember why I do this, it helps my to push through and keep going. I do also lean on my faith that God has a specific calling for me. I am not always sure how it is going to look but believe if I continue to do the work that is placed on my heart, God is going to handle the outcome. What I would love for people to know about my brand and story is that it all stems from the desire to help people really realize, we only have this one life. And this one body. We must do all we can to live it healthy and happy…….we never know when the opportunity will be gone.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If you to come visit me the first thing we are going to do is hit Lake Conroe. I am a water girl so we would head on over grab a boat from the Freedom boat club and either enjoy the day touring the lake on a pontoon, looking at beautiful homes , or grabbing a Mastercraft and wake surfing /wakeboarding /water skiing. After a fun filled day we will head over to Margaritaville resort where we would enjoy music, drinks, and watch a spectacular sunset. The next day we would visit Lake Woodlands /Northshore Park maybe for some paddle boarding. Afterwards we’ll head over to market Street and do some shopping ,eat at Tommy Bahamas, and grab a bottle of wine and some beautiful accessories from Luxe. If we are really lucky, a concert series might be happening and we would enjoy music on the lawn. Another day we would definitely go for a walk along the waterway, maybe jump in one of the swan boats and again enjoy some wonderful dining at one of the outside café areas. For a fine dining experience we would most likely head over to Tris’ or Trulucks, both favorites of mine because they have a diverse menu and vegan options. Depending on the time of year we may enjoy an art festival or one of the various music festivals. And always we can kick back and walk the gorgeous trails and pathways all through the Woodlands.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to give a shout out to one of my best friends/past real estate mentor, Kathy Freeman. She was the first person I ever met that genuinely wanted to guide and help me. Starting out was hard and I often wanted to quit, but she would sit with me and help me figure out a way to keep going. And I ended up having a very successful, wonderful career for a long time because I stayed the course. It was a rare thing for me to meet another women who genuinely cared about me and was excited for my own personal growth and success. And I learned the value of working through the hard, trusting the process, and believing in yourself. And of the power of women helping women!
