We had the good fortune of connecting with Nate Spriggs and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nate, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Ive always had great work ethic but working for other companies you can’t always control being fairly compensated for the work and time you put in.I didn’t want my financial future to be dependent on so many other variables and that drove me to venture out where I could get the most out of the work I put in and put the pressure on me .

What should our readers know about your business?
S&N Remodeling and Home Repair Is a Black owned and operated family business Started in 2020 during a pandemic when small businesses across the country were closing down and unemployment rates were through the roof our company persevered and began to slowly gain traction through mostly word of mouth initially in Houston’s south side I had only worked entry level positions up to that point my Dad (who is also part owner) did have 10+ years of management experience but mainly ran the day to day operations where his experienced really set us apart early while I took to the white collar side & began to learn the business he wanted me to know the inside and out so I handled all the paperwork & things of that nature while I was learning and gained more experience. He had to trust me to put us in the right positions and it helped our personal relationship as well that’s the thing we’re most proud of our hard work is beginning to pay off

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
It’s a plenty of places to enjoy all over the city craft crab, the turkey leg hut and red sno wagon are some of my favorite places to eat anywhere you go in Houston as far as night life you’ll have a great time the city is filled with amazing scenery so it just depends on what your into I’d probably spend the week doing something different everyday
