We had the good fortune of connecting with Naysbel Escobar and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Naysbel, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I was born and raised in New York and come from a Hispanic background. My parents are immigrants from the Dominican Republic and Mexico. Growing up, family played a central role in my life. For us, family means more than just blood relations—it’s about community, support, and unity.

After high school, I joined the Marine Corps and recently transitioned out. The military brought many challenges that tested me both mentally and emotionally. During my hardest moments, when I felt like giving up, my family’s unwavering support kept me going. They would constantly remind me, ‘Sí Se Puede!’—‘Yes, You Can!’—encouraging me to persevere and believe in my ability to overcome any situation.

This resilience is what I aim to share through Si Se Puede Market. It’s a reflection of my journey and a reminder that even in difficult times, we are capable of pushing forward. The market is not just a space for vendors but a celebration of community and perseverance, proving that success is always within reach when we stay determined.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m Naysbel, an entrepreneur and model with a passion for building spaces that foster creativity, diversity, and connection. Through my markets, like Si Se Puede Market, and events such as Enchanted Solstice: A Winter Wonderland I aim to celebrate local talent, elevate small businesses, and bring communities together. As a model with over five years of experience in runway and commercial, I’ve learned to express creativity not just in front of the camera but also through the events I curate.

What sets me apart is my ability to combine my cultural heritage, professionalism, and love for storytelling into everything I do. As a Mexican-Dominican woman, I take pride in creating inclusive platforms where underrepresented voices are celebrated. I’m most proud of the relationships I’ve built with designers, vendors, and collaborators who share my vision of empowerment and creativity.

The journey to where I am today wasn’t easy. Balancing family, modeling, event planning, and entrepreneurship comes with its challenges, from tight deadlines to financial hurdles. Early on, I faced doubts about whether I could succeed in these spaces, but I overcame them by staying focused, asking for help when needed, and never losing sight of my purpose. I’ve learned the importance of consistency, resilience, and the value of creating opportunities not just for myself but for others.

What I want the world to know about my story is that every step I’ve taken has been driven by passion and a desire to leave a positive impact. Through my brand and events, I aim to inspire others to dream big and take pride in their individuality. My story is proof that hard work, collaboration, and a willingness to embrace challenges can lead to incredible growth and success.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend came to visit, I’d make sure they experienced the best of the city. We’d start the week with a stroll through Buffalo Bayou Park, where we could soak in the views of downtown Houston and enjoy a picnic. For food, I’d take them to The Original Ninfa’s on Navigation for some of the best Mexican cuisine in the area.

Midweek, we’d explore the Houston Museum District, stopping by the Museum of Fine Arts and the Houston Museum of Natural Science. For lunch, I’d take them to a local food hall like Post Houston, where they could try a variety of cuisines.

I’d dedicate a day to a vibrant local market or event — like Si Se Puede Market — to experience the creativity and talent of local vendors and artists. We’d also visit unique shops to discover handmade and one-of-a-kind items.

In the evenings, I’d suggest dinner at a rooftop spot like Z on 23 or sunset drinks at a laid-back bar. For a special night, we’d head to the Theater District to catch a show or live music.

To end the week, we’d spend the day exploring Galveston Island, enjoying the beach and local seafood. If time allowed, we could also visit Space Center Houston to learn about NASA’s incredible history.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my family and close friends who have always believed in me and supported my dreams, no matter how big or small. Their constant encouragement has been a driving force in everything I do. I also want to recognize the incredible creative individuals I’ve had the honor of collaborating with; their passion and talent inspire me every day. Lastly, a special thank you to local Houston businesses and artists, creating spaces for us to shine and grow.
