We had the good fortune of connecting with Neisha Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Neisha, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factors behind the success of my brand is most definitely staying consistent and risk taking. I will also be 100% honest and say its the most important and at the same time its the hardest thing to do in life. A lot of times in life when things are not going the way we planned them in our head, the first thing we do is second-guess ourselves and say ” this not going to work let me give up”. When the reality of it is business takes time to grow, it’s not an over night success how social media makes it seems. You have to put in the work and the time to grow. When it comes to the risk, it’s a must you take it because the reward will be so sweet in the end. Most people wont take risk due to lack of self-doubt and faith. Trust me, starting a business is scary, and a lot of things in entrepreneurship doesn’t come with a manual or tutorial. I also tell myself that the turtle always wins the race. If you want to run a successful business, that is a life-long commitment, so you don’t have to rush it because the faster you rush, the more mistakes you will make. Also in business you will make mistakes, you will fail, you will feel defeated, and with all of those things you still have to keep going and most importantly, you must stay consistent. With out me being consistent and keeping going, I would never be able to tell my story today.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I wanted my brand and business to be more than just any regular fitness business. I wanted my business to be different. I wanted it to stand for something, and I wanted it to have a meaning behind the brand. I said Okay, since my top product is going to be waist trainers and I need it to be the best taste and quality waist trainers ever. So, I said Boom Name is going to be WAIST SNOBS.

Now Let’s Talk About the meaning and mission behind Waist Snobs what makes me stand out from other brands.
Waist Snobs mission- “We Specialize in Giving Women the Confidence to Feel Amazing in Their Own Skin No Matter The Shade Or Size. We Want to Let Our Customers Become the BEST YOU POSSIBLE!”
Each letter in my brand has an acronym. All these words have a deep meaning to me, and I wanted these words to impact other women who wear my brand also.

W- Worthy
A-Ambition
I-Innovation
S- Secured
T- Tenacity

S- Superb
N- Nurturing
O- Optimistic
B-Boldness
S- Superior

So That’s What Sets Waist Snobs apart from any other brand, and the biggest part that stands out the most is when we tell people that our waist trainers run from a size Small – 9XL.

I’m most proud of how I really made my vison and passion become a reality. Some time I still sit back and say “this is all you” I’m just amazed. I still remember the day one of my customers tagged me in a post on Facebook and said “Y’all Why Did I just hear them promote WaistSnobs On 97.9 the beat”. All I could do that day was cry tears of joy. I was so proud of myself, I said all these late nights/early mornings is paying off and I can’t Stop Now. I even hit up the girl from the radio station to make sure because I didn’t hear it. I was so excited, and she replied and said, “yup, I did S/O Waist Snobs On the radio today”. That right there made me say okay, cool, not even a year in business yet, and I’m on the radio, my next big move that I’m even more excited about is Waist Snobs Billboards all over DFW.
I owe it all to the hard work and the challenges I’ve faced in my business. What a lot of people don’t talk about is how hard it is to run a business. Running a business and being an entrepreneur is not an easy walk in the park. It takes a lot of work, a lot of sacrifices, a lot of ups/downs and you take a lot of loses. My biggest challenge in business was the deliver company losing thousands of dollars in inventory right before a big sale that I had been promoting for weeks. So, I had to reorder more inventory that cost me even more money imagine how stressful that was for a new business owner. That really made me second-guess my business and is this the right business for me. The way I overcame that challenge remembering my faith is way stronger than my fear, and God wouldn’t have let me accomplish so much to fail me now. So, When It Comes to my business, I want people to know that this brand is more about my customers and not just about me; every last one of my customers have a special place in my heart because without them I wouldn’t be who I am today and I wouldn’t be where I am Today. ❤️

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If My Bestfriend comes in town we are most def going to hit up my fav restaurants like The Capital Grille, Moxies, Turlucks or Drake’s for Dinner. For Brunch/Breakfast we would go to Ellens, Snooze Am Eatery, Ebb & Flow or Dream Cafe they mimosa are amazing. I’m a big Foodie I love good eats. We most def going shopping, I love to shop and we would go to a nice downtown hotel and go to the spa relax and have some cocktails at the bar.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Before I give anyone else any credit, I want to thank God because without him my passion wouldn’t have become my purpose. I remember it was 3am in the morning on a Tuesday and I was trying to fall asleep because I needed to wake up in a few hours for work. I couldn’t fall asleep for nothing and boom the idea of starting my own fitness brand popped into my head. So, I picked up my Mac Book and started doing some research. Before I knew it was 6am and my alarm was going off for work. Later on, that day I was trying my hardest to focus at work but I just couldn’t; the only thing I could think of was this fitness brand. For about a week straight when it was time for me to fall asleep, all I could think about was ideas about my brand. So, I said to God, if this is meant to be then its for me, and I want you to help me stay focused and guide me through ever step.

My Mom is my biggest support system; anybody who knows me knows that anytime you see me you see her. As a kid I always said one day I’m going to make it and retire my mom. That’s still a promise that will never be broken long as I’m still walking and breathing on this earth. My close family and friends, I’m so thankful to have them because they all support me so much. We always say strangers will be your biggest support and that is true, but the support and love of your friends and family really hits on a different level.
