Meet Nicole, Ashlyn, & Allysa Shelton | Owners of Glam Life Beauty Bar

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole, Ashlyn, & Allysa Shelton and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nicole, Ashlyn, & Allysa, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Our inspiration for starting Glam Life Beauty Bar truly began at home. Our mom has been in the beauty industry for as long as we can remember, so my sister and I grew up watching her build, create, and serve women through beauty. At the same time, our dad was also a business owner alongside her, though in a different industry. Seeing both of our parents run businesses showed us firsthand what entrepreneurship requires: discipline, faith, resilience, and independence.
In 2018, my sister came up with the idea for Glam Life. She believed we should start our own brand instead of simply working for someone else. That idea planted a seed in both of us. We didn’t just want careers in beauty, we wanted ownership. We wanted to create something that reflected our upbringing, our work ethic, and our passion for helping women feel confident.
Glam Life Beauty Bar is truly a reflection of the entrepreneurial example our parents set for us and the vision my sister had to build something of our own.

What should our readers know about your business?
Glam Life Beauty Bar is a mother-daughter owned beauty brand built on legacy, confidence, and entrepreneurship. We specialize in full face makeovers, 1-on-1 makeup classes, and curated cosmetic products, but what truly sets us apart is the experience. We focus on educating and empowering women, not just providing a service.
We launched Glam Life in 2018 after being inspired by our parents, who were both business owners. Growing up in that environment shaped our mindset and gave us the courage to build something of our own. Being able to grow our brand inside Willowbrook Mall has allowed us to connect directly with our community and build real relationships.
It hasn’t been easy and entrepreneurship comes with challenges, slow seasons, and constant learning. But we’ve overcome them through consistency, adaptability, and believing in our long-term vision. The biggest lesson we’ve learned is that success requires resilience and showing up even when it’s hard.
We want the world to know that Glam Life Beauty Bar represents more than beauty, it represents family, ownership, and women creating opportunities for themselves. And we’re just getting started.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We’d start with brunch for a fun, upbeat brunch vibe. For a lively lunch or dinner, we’d head to Yard House for great food and drinks, and one night would definitely be a seafood moment at Pappadeaux.
We’d spend a day exploring CityCentre enjoying shopping, people watching, and enjoying the energy.
Of course, she’d have to stop by Glam Life Beauty Bar for a full glam session before going out.
Houston is such a diverse, high-energy city with amazing food and ambitious people. By the end of the week, she’d leave glammed, well-fed, and already planning her next trip back.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Honestly, we have to dedicate our shoutout to our parents. Watching our mom build a career in the beauty industry and seeing both of our parents run businesses taught us what entrepreneurship looks like long before we started our own. Their work ethic, resilience, and faith shaped how we approach Glam Life today.
We also give credit to each other as sisters. Glam Life started as an idea between us in 2018, and being able to build something side by side has been one of the biggest blessings in our journey.
