We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Jones -Scott and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicole, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I feel that risk taking is a part of the process for advancing your business. I myself have read many success stories of people who have taken risks good or bad who’ve become successful. One day, I thought to myself, how will you ever know the potential of your business without taking any risks. I am not new to entrepreneurship, but 2 years ago I decided to resign from my career of 20 years to focus on family and grow my businesses. I knew that resigning would come at a great risk that would test my faith and strength. I know that this decision would also distinguish me, allow me to share my story with others, answer the what if’s and innovate my brands to the highest potential! No risk, No reward!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What set’s our businesses apart from the others is that Posh Brands are not just a business but a lifestyle. We have pride in providing stylish and elegant furnishing from our Posh Furniture & Design brand selections for an affordable price. As well as providing an elegant environment at our Posh Body Studio Day Spa Location providing Head to Toe Body Treatment. How did I get here, I have always loved fashion, furniture and working out. But being a young mother and not always being able to afford the luxurious things in life. I wanted to create a brand that could represent all women and give every woman the opportunity to live, look and feel “Posh” Have there been challenges sure, I resigned from my career of 20 years to focus on my brands. I ran through my savings, my family has even had to make adjustments. But today, I would tell you that I wouldn’t do anything different! I have learned valuable lessons along the way, the most important is patience especially during this time when social media is prevalent. You have to take your time and don’t rush the process. You want to make sure that your business foundation is solid. People will remember where they purchased their quality furniture and most importantly the experience. A person will remember no matter what imperfections their body has, the experience they had at Posh Body Studio left them feeling beautiful inside and out. My story is still being written but I enjoy sharing the journey, and to the world look out for “Posh Brands”

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
So let’s unwind after a long week, myself, girlfriends and I enjoy dining around the River Oak District. The atmosphere has amazing beautiful decor all year round. Location has shopping areas, restaurants, movie theater,hotel and bars. You can literally dress up or down to complete your mission. And if you are looking for scenery for IG Pics, you have arrived at your location. If you love fashion and decor like I do, there is the Highland Village Retail area that’s a few blocks down. I sometimes go there and feel as if I am in my favorite place LA! Houston is full of surprises and hidden jewels. When I have time I enjoy discovering and learning more about the city.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First, I would like to thank my grandmother Blanche Jones who’s 87 years of age and one tough cookie. My grandmother played a major role in raising me and making me the woman I am today. I remember when I was little, I would go to the bank with her on the weekend to conduct her business and she worked until she was 81 years of age. She has loved, supported and encouraged me to be the strong successful woman that I am today. And I can’t leave out my husband and two boys who are my number one supporters. And of course, I haven’t always been an entrepreneur, I worked very hard over the years to build a career for myself. I started at the bottom and worked my way to the top of my career. That determination has positioned me to employ those work ethics in my business and failure is no option.
