Meet Niki Spears | Chief Culture Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Niki Spears and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Niki, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My journey to founding Culture Cre8ion stems from a lifelong passion for creating positive communities, which I never imagined could evolve into a lucrative business. From a young age, I observed my family dynamics and dreamed of ways to foster a close-knit environment. When I made the bold decision to leave my job in 2016, there was no guarantee of financial security, but I embarked on this path driven by faith and my unwavering belief in the power of positive culture and communities. Having witnessed firsthand the profound impact of culture on team success as an educator and later a school leader, I felt compelled to share this insight with others—to illustrate why culture matters and how it can be transformed. Thus, Culture Cre8ion was born—a platform dedicated to teaching individuals and organizations the importance of cultivating thriving cultures and providing them with the tools to enact meaningful change within their communities.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
While my journey primarily revolves around my work with Culture Cre8ion and fostering positive culture within schools and organizations, I’m also deeply passionate about my art. What sets my art apart is its connection to my mission of promoting positivity and self-expression. Each piece I create, whether it’s writing a book, creating a presentation, or developing materials, they are infused with intention, conveying messages of empowerment, resilience, and hope. What I’m most proud of is the ability of my art to touch hearts and inspire change, just as my work with Culture Cre8ion does. Professionally, getting to where I am today hasn’t been easy. I’ve faced challenges and setbacks along the way, from navigating the complexities of entrepreneurship to overcoming self-doubt and uncertainty. However, through perseverance, resilience, and unwavering determination, I’ve overcome these obstacles and continued to push forward. The lessons I’ve learned are invaluable—embracing failure as a stepping stone to growth, cultivating a resilient mindset, and staying true to my vision and values even in the face of adversity. What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that everything I do—whether it’s through Culture Cre8ion or my art—is driven by a deep commitment to making a positive impact. My story is one of empowerment, transformation, and the belief that each of us has the power to create change in our lives and communities. Through my art and my work with Culture Cre8ion, I strive to inspire others to embrace their authenticity, amplify their voices, and cultivate cultures of kindness, compassion, and connection.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
During my best friend’s week-long visit to Houston, Texas, I would ensure they experience the city’s diverse offerings. We’d kick off with Tex-Mex breakfast at Breakfast Klub and explore the Museum District, grabbing BBQ at The Pit Room for lunch. A stroll through Hermann Park precedes dinner in Houston Heights, followed by drinks in the historic district. Another day, we’d brunch at Common Bond Café & Bakery, visit the Space Center, and enjoy Midtown’s nightlife. Galveston’s historic district awaits the next morning, with seafood lunch and beach time. The week includes more museum visits, shopping at The Galleria, and dining at top restaurants like Uchi and Hugo’s, ensuring my friend leaves with unforgettable memories of Houston’s vibrant culture and cuisine.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
In reflecting on my journey, there’s a significant individual who deserves immense credit and recognition: my husband, Kermit. Approximately 10 years ago, he introduced me to a transformative book titled “The Success Principles” by Jack Canfield. It was a pivotal moment that shifted my perspective and transformed my personal and professional growth. The book’s very first page, which emphasizes taking 100% responsibility for one’s life, struck a chord with me. It served as a wake-up call, challenging me to shift away from a mindset of blame and victimhood towards one of accountability and empowerment. Kermit’s encouragement to read that page ignited a profound transformation within me, guiding me towards a path of self-awareness and proactive action. Today, I integrate the message of personal responsibility from “The Success Principles” into my keynotes, trainings, and every aspect of my work with Culture Cre8ion, empowering others to embrace ownership of their lives and create positive change. Kermit’s insight and support have been invaluable on my journey, and I’m deeply grateful for his influence in shaping the trajectory of my life and career.
