We had the good fortune of connecting with Nikkie Hancock and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nikkie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I started Kingwood Moms to help other Moms in the area have all resources they would need at their fingertips. But Kingwood Moms mission is to also support local businesses by offering advertising.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Kingwood Moms is a hyper-local integrated marketing platform for Moms by Moms as an online resource for families in and around the Humble, Kingwood & Atascocita areas.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There are so many great places in and around the Houston Area. My first stop would be lunch or dinner on Lake Houston At Chimichurris or Sharky’s.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Layla Lisiewski with The Local Moms Network- Thank you Thank you Thank you! Layla started Greenwich Moms because she saw the need to keep events and resources altogether for herself, but once other Moms heard about it the loved it. She grew so quickly and created The Local Moms Network (which Kingwood Moms is apart of). TLMN now has over 100 sites across the country and in 28 different states and counting. And of course my husband and kids–I couldn’t do it without you guys! My Mom friends–Thank you for being so supportive and helping me create such an amazing community!
