Meet Nino Batista

Today we’re excited to be connecting with Nino Batista again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.
Nino, thanks for joining us again. Just to level set a bit for folks who may have missed our last interview together, can you briefly introduce yourself?
Of course! I’m Nino Batista, and I’ve been fortunate to carve out a path in photography that blends technical precision with a passion for artistic expression. My work focuses on portraiture, editorial, and fine art photography, but it’s also deeply rooted in retouching and post-production—a side of the craft I’ve come to love just as much as capturing the image itself. Along the way, I started creating tools and resources to help others streamline their workflows, which has become an exciting part of what I do.
What truly sets my journey apart, I think, is the balance between evolving as an artist and sharing what I’ve learned. I didn’t set out to “stand out,” but rather to keep growing, experimenting, and connecting with others who share a love for photography. From outdoor shoots in places like White Sands to fast-paced studio sessions and even developing Photoshop tools like NBP SKN or FC3, each step has felt like part of a much bigger conversation about creativity and craft.
If there’s a highlight to all of this, it’s the moments of genuine collaboration—with models, peers, and the broader photography community. It’s been a winding road full of surprises, and I’m grateful for the opportunities to not only create but also to inspire and be inspired along the way.

Awesome, so we reached out because we wanted to hear all about what you have been up to since we last connected.
It’s amazing to think how much can happen in just a couple of years. Since about 2022, my life has been a mix of new challenges, creative breakthroughs, and deep reflection on where I want to take my work. I’ve had the chance to revisit some of my favorite places and rediscover the joy of shooting outdoors after spending so much time in the studio. Collaborating with talented models in these breathtaking environments has reminded me why I fell in love with photography in the first place.
But it hasn’t been all smooth sailing. Finding balance between creative work, business, and personal growth has been an ongoing challenge, and I’ve had to learn when to step back and let things breathe. That’s been a gift in itself, though—it’s given me time to focus on what really matters, whether that’s creating meaningful collaborations, teaching others, or simply refining my own voice as an artist.
Right now, I’m most excited about what’s next. From releasing new retouching tools to finishing my upcoming black-and-white erotica photo/art book, these projects feel like the culmination of everything I’ve been working toward. I’m also diving back into YouTube livestreaming and connecting with the community more directly—it’s a way of staying grounded and inspired while sharing ideas with people who truly get it.
It’s been a wild ride, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to keep growing, exploring, and sharing my passion with others. Every chapter feels like a new beginning, and I’m looking forward to seeing where this one leads.

What do you want people to remember about you and your brand? What are some of things that you feel are most important, unique, special, etc?
I want people to remember the honesty in what I do—the pursuit of connection, beauty, and meaning, even in the smallest of details. Photography, for me, has never been just about creating images; it’s about capturing something raw and human, something that lingers long after the moment has passed. Whether it’s the light falling on a subject’s face, the tones that tell a story, or the imperfections that make it all feel alive, my work is about honoring those fleeting instants. I haven’t always succeeded in this; in fact I didn’t for easily a decade or more. But right now, and for the foreseeable future, I would be remiss if I pretended I wanted to create photos just for the sake of creating photos. I may not be trying to tell deeply profound stories all the time, but I no longer inspired being silent.
As for my brand, I hope it stands as a bridge between art and craft. Tools like NBP CGP aren’t just technical solutions—they’re born out of a desire to help others see their work come alive in ways they might not have thought possible. If people remember NBP as a source of empowerment for their creativity, then I’ll have done something right.
What feels most important to me is the idea that there’s no “perfect” in this work, only a constant exploration. I want people to feel that their journey as artists—complete with its missteps, breakthroughs, and everything in between—is valid and worth celebrating. At the end of the day, I hope my work reminds others to embrace authenticity, trust their instincts, and keep creating, no matter where it leads them.
Because, really, this journey isn’t just mine. It’s all of ours.
