Meet Norma Garcia | Owner/founder of L&A Glow Up Aesthetics. Medical Assistant/Cosmetologist/ LHRP

We had the good fortune of connecting with Norma Garcia and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Norma, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Creating wealth for my kids. And most importantly showing them the importance of showing up and aiming for your dreams. That a dream can become a reality as long as you keep your mind on it.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My Journey as a New Business Owner
Ever since I was young, I knew I wanted to own my own business — and not just stop there, but eventually branch out into building passive income. I’m less than a year in, and while it’s been anything but easy, I’ve already accomplished so much. And the best part? This is just the beginning.
Coming to this country at age 12, I could have never imagined how far I’d come. Starting a business from the ground up is hard — and this is the part many don’t talk about. The financial stress. Building a clientele. Staying compliant. Balancing it all while being a wife and mom. It’s a lot. But through every challenge, I’ve kept going — learning and growing along the way.
I’m a certified medical assistant, and that’s where my passion for helping others was born. I’m also a licensed cosmetologist, which allows me to merge both my love for aesthetics and wellness into the services I offer. I didn’t choose this industry just for the money — I chose it because I genuinely love being a part of each transformation and seeing the confidence that blossoms in my clients.
My mission is simple: to enhance natural beauty with honesty and integrity. If something isn’t right for you, I’ll tell you. I’m not here to just make a sale — I’m here to make a difference. Transparency is at the core of everything I do.
I’m still navigating the ups and downs of entrepreneurship, but with God guiding me and the unwavering support of my incredible husband, I have nothing to complain about. My business may be new, but it’s growing — and I’m continually investing in my education and in myself to ensure I bring the best to my clients.
Many people may not know me yet — but I’m just getting started.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Ooh, this one’s a tough question for me! Honestly, my best friend is my husband. While I do have childhood friends, they’re sadly not nearby anymore.
Lately, I’ve started connecting with some amazing women through networking events, which has been such a blessing — but I’m still in the early stages of building those friendships.
Most of my days are spent with my kids and my husband, so I may not be the best person to ask when it comes to fun spots or how to spend an amazing day outside my family .

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoutout to my husband —
Having a supportive partner makes all the difference, and too often that support goes unnoticed. So today, this shoutout is for him.
He stands by me in every move I make, without hesitation. He’s my number one supporter — the one who listens to it all: the good, the bad, and everything in between. He’s the steady voice that pushes me to dream bigger and reach higher.
When I struggle to see my own worth, he’s the one who reminds me of it. I could go on and on, but the point is simple:
Thank you for being my rock, my encourager, and my constant. This one’s for you. 💛
