We had the good fortune of connecting with Olga Bachilo, MD and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Olga, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted to create a place where every cosmetic concern could be addressed under one roof. I am not only a board-certified plastic surgeon, but also a med spa owner. I care about my patients’ satisfaction and well-being, even after their surgery was performed and they are happy with the outcome. I want to continue caring for my patients, providing them with the most innovative and effective solutions in medical aesthetics. In addition, if a person is a candidate for noninvasive or minimally invasive treatment, I will let them know, but if surgery is their best option to achieve their desired look, I can make that recommendation, which will save patients time and money. This has been the thought process behind opening the med spa. Each of my surgical patients get a complimentary 1 year membership, because I cannot stress enough the importance of continued aftercare and maintenance. I want my patients to understand that plastic surgery is not a “forever” solution. Time, lifestyle choices, and stress, diminish your results little by little. Therefore, maintenance is a must. It’s a not-so-secret sauce in the success of your procedure and a long lasting outcome.Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Glamour Plastic Surgery and Med Spa was created to be centered around our patients. Our goal is to deliver patients with best outcomes while taking into account their desires. One thing that sets us apart is that we truly listen to our patients and work with them to design a well-balanced plan, instead of making assumptions on what they need vs. what they want. We also stay up to date on all most innovative and advanced treatments in order to deliver our patients the best of the best. From a surgical standpoint, my goal is to deliver finest results, but also ensure that patients have the easiest and most comfortable recovery and that their entire process to transformation is as smooth as possible.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I fell in love with Houston from the moment I moved here. Having spent more than half of my life here now, I don’t see myself living anywhere else. There are so many places to see and so many things to do here. Having a young child we often visit the Houston Zoo, which is one of the country’s top. My husband and I also enjoy theater and you can frequently find us at the Alley Theater. My friends and I try to maintain a Keto diet, and our most common go-to place is Ruggles Black on Kirby. They have a tremendous Keto-friendly menu, and their Keto lemon cheesecake is better than any other regular cheesecake out there. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Throughout my education I’ve had the privilege of support from several amazing mentors and teachers who have guided me towards my goal. This list is not all inclusive, however these three talented and brilliant individuals have been an integral part of my career. Dr. Linda Phillips, my program director and mentor has played an instrumental role in helping me be who I am today. I would also like to thank Dr. Steven Blackwel and Dr. Don Collins for their continued support.
