We had the good fortune of connecting with Onex’s Gardner and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Onex’s, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
To be completely honest, I had to figure out what my next big move would be in the great country of opportunities! I’ve learned so much since being here, and the creative side of me was itching to break free. I’ve always been a creative soul, but you know how “survival mode” can keep you too busy to really dive in, right?
Then, someone complemented (in a very detailed way) my style and then —I kept getting compliments on how I capture things. So, naturally, I bought myself a camera (a Canon t6i, which I still use!) and dove headfirst into YouTube tutorials. And that’s when the real fun began! My absolute favorite part? Styling and creating unique concepts that scream “OMG” as soon as you see them! (How do I do it? Well… that’s a secret I’ll never tell—muahaha! Not that anyone was asking, but still. 😄)
I quickly realized that to make it all happen, I had to step out from behind the lens too. So, I started asking friends to let me capture their essence, and little by little, things started to fall into place. I’m not exactly where I want to be just yet, but I’ve come a long way from where I started—and that’s something I’m super proud of!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Thank you for asking! My art is truly an extension of me—bold, vibrant, and personal. I’m most proud of creating a style that’s unmistakably mine, where people can look at an image and say, “That’s Onex’s work!” It wasn’t easy getting here. Starting out with just my Canon t6i and YouTube tutorials, I had to push through “survival mode” and lots of self-doubt. But my passion for capturing real, powerful moments—and the support of mentors, family, and friends—kept me going.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is to embrace my unique vision. My brand is more than just photos; it’s about empowering others to feel seen and appreciated. That’s the story I want my work to tell.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Thank you so much for beginning with this question. It’s a wonderful way for me to be understood, as who I am today is truly a reflection of those who have supported, encouraged, and guided me.
First and foremost, I have to thank God—He’s the ultimate writer, protector, and guide we all need and deserve in our lives. I’m also endlessly grateful for the women in my family, who were my first examples of strength, resilience, and wisdom, showing me what to do—and sometimes, what not to do.
A special shoutout to Mauricio Nelson, Eduardo Zablah, David Sequeiros, and Yoana Mata—my fairy godparents in the industry! They taught me everything from walking with confidence to navigating social circles and staying strong on my path. Without the support of my friends, especially those I’ve been lucky enough to meet this year, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
I’m also deeply thankful to the Honduran brand owners who trust me with their visions, whether creating for them or representing them as a brand ambassador. And, of course, my amazing assistant and friend, Elias Murillo, and my all-around wonderful friends Ligia Moreira, Luz Barajas, and Keisy Zapata. Last but not least, a huge thank-you to my new roommate-sister, Melissa Townsend, and my little brother, Jerall Gardner.
Each of these people has played a special role in my journey, and I’m so proud to have them in my corner.
