We had the good fortune of connecting with Osereme Samson-Ibhagui and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Osereme, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
I graduated in August 2022; before that, it was challenging to maintain a healthy academic, work, and social lifestyle. I used a planner to help get my life organized. It is the cheapest organizing tool an ambitious person can use. Every Sunday evening after church service, I’ll wind down with my Jazz playlist in the background and fill in my tasks of the week, breaking them into little tasks I’ll spread across the 7 days. At the end of each day, I feel fulfilled when I check out all my completed tasks. Now I’m in the corporate world, but there are a few changes. I plan my events around work schedules. Balance isn’t about equality; it is knowing what is lacking and giving more where more is needed. I evaluate myself at the end of the week to measure my performance and the results I produce. If I need to produce more results in certain areas, I’ll plan my week with that information in mind, which defines balance.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Everyone is now into content creation; the pandemic is a factor in this wave. I always used to create content, but I started making it public during the lockdown. I got a lot of positive feedback, which made me want to get involved more. I am my own person. I might get inspiration from others, but all my content has every element of me. I am proud that my fashion has evolved from jeans and tops to wearing pieces and colors outside my comfort zone. I can’t wait to show y’all my looks for next year epic and timeless would be an understatement. One can never value what is given to them for free. I pride myself on my craft because I worked hard mentally to showcase my gift on several platforms. My Christian faith has helped me navigate through life’s most unpleasurable moments. Along this journey, I have learned to never change my character or bargain my values to make anyone happy; if anything, it would cost me later. I came from the most loving family surrounded by the brightest group of friends; everyone has contributed to my development into the woman I am now. I used to lack the confidence to express how I felt to people or to talk in crowds. Now, I founded an organization with over 200 members (past and present), led, delegated, and celebrated the team’s success. Given back to several communities in the Houston Area, had controversial conversations with unique guests on my podcast, and showed the world my definition of fashion.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am not the type to gatekeep anything lol checkout out my IG page: @reme.samson. I love the finest things in life and enjoy giving them to myself. Suppose you are anything like me, that love going out to eat without a budget lol, fine dining kind of vibe. In that case, I’ll recommend Mastros, Juliet, Bisou, Zanti, Guard and Grace, and Flora. Houston is blessed with fantastic nightlife. I recommend O2, Mr. X, Cle, H bar, Kamp and Amahle.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shout out to Ladies Empowering the World, an organization I founded in 2019 at my college, Prairie View A&M University. These ladies keep on slaying and breaking boundaries; I am so proud of every one of them. They amaze everyday.
