We had the good fortune of connecting with OYINDAMOLA FOLAYAN and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi OYINDAMOLA, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
Ever since I was young, I have always being this versatile person who loves to multi task and do a lot of this at the same time. I actually belong to the school of though of having multiple streams of income, apart from your main job, then there should be 2 or more other sources which will be productive. I developed the idea through my mum and it became inbuilt as I watched her cook food, sell kitchen utensils, do event planning and decoration for people, made cakes and still kept her 9-5 job. I developed my ideas from her and carved out a niche for myself from there.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have always had the thought of if you can dream it you can achieve it, even though we all know Rome was not built in a day but with persistence and hard work, everything will fall in place, I work as an account payable specialist and also juggle between being a mother and handing 3 other businesses together, even though they are not where I want it to be, I have moved way past where I started from. Most of my friends ask how I do it all with my 8-5 job, i still get home, if I have orders of food, I cook, if i have orders on clothes i work on it or if people want to come to my location to check the clothes, I work on it too, likewise i work on orders on event planning and or event decoration and still get to attend to my child. I guess everywoman has super powers lol .
I didn’t get here by chance, it has being a long term goal and dream, like I have always said what i have now into existence and I worked towards achieving it , it has not being easy i must confess, there are times when i have low moments of not making any sales at all or doing anything but having something to fall back on is sweet and to also know that you are going somewhere.
I have learnt a lot in the long run, once you test the waters, you would know whether to go in or not , i learnt how to manage a lot of things , and handling finances, handling client’s request, and also getting commitments before going ahead to do

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would love to take them to Sugar land town center, I love the scenery and atmosphere, dine on the streets and take very cool pictures. eat at Fogo de chao, hang out on westhiemer on Friday evening for a fun girls night, then we visit the galleria, do some shopping, and downtown, take a quick drive down to San Antonio and visit six flags, trust me i can be on the road driving and just exploring, because I love to drive alot

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mum, she has being my source of inspiration, and has always encouraged me right from when I started doing my thing , also to my darling Dre who has always encouraged me to do more
