We had the good fortune of connecting with Patrice Griffin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Patrice, looking back, what do you think was the most difficult decision you’ve had to make?
The most difficult decision i had to make was whether or not i should write a book about my life. I wondered whether or not people could relate to the things that i had experienced growing up. This was a very personal story that i would now share with the world. I wasnt sure if anyone would even care, but i decided to write it to help other survivors know that they arent alone in their silent struggles.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would go to Hermann park to play some golf. check out the museum district. there are so many amazing ones to visit. Go Workout at Sparboxing its the best gym in Houston. The Dessert Gallery. McCormick &Schmick best crab cakes Brenner”s on the Bayou Lucille’s for breakfast Bike riding near the bayou Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate this all child abuse survivors. They are my motivation and what keeps me going everyday. When my book dropped I received so much love and I received so many messages from survivors letting me know that this book really helped them not to feel alone and motivated them to seek therapy or talk to there kids about abuse. I would also like to thank my publishing company Williams Commerce for believing in me enough to want to publish my book. Last but not least The Veterans Hospital In Brooklyn, NY. They saved my life and was extremely supportive of my journey dealing with depression and PTSD. Had it not been for the amazing therapists. I probably wouldn’t be here today.
