Hi PCrain, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
All of Maya Angelou’s are our favorite, but there are 2 that stands out the most.

“Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.” -Maya Angelou
This one simply means to us is that we often make mistakes because we don’t know the right way to do things. Once we learn the right way we understand and learn from our mistake and change it and don’t repeat it again. Learning from our mistakes is important, it makes you stronger.

Step out on faith and trust your self. Dare to be yourself and the rest is yours.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We are two sisters that decided to go for it! We both love creating and designing our own looks from our hair to our clothes. It all begin when one sister was working at a law firm as a paralegal and was reading a sales paper and saw the CriCut machine being advertised. She was interested and intrigued because that was always the dream to make her own unique clothes. She went and purchased it. She learned it on her own, no youtube or tutorial videos. Of course, she made several mistakes along the way, not knowing that it made her better at it. Her shirts and apparel began to gain a lot of attention from her family and friends. People asked where did she get her custom apparel from and to design them some as well. After two years it got serious she decided to ask her sister to jump aboard and they both created PCrain Designs LLC and 13 plus years later the rest is history. We love what we do and create every single design with love. What sets us apart from others is that we can’t say ‘no’ to our customers. If there is something we never designed before we research it and get it done. We love the challenge to try new things and just add a new service to our business. No way nothing is easy. Yes, there were and still is struggles with owning a business. We don’t know everything, but is willing to learn what we can. We provide several services here in the Houston area. We call ourselves “THE ONE STOP SHOP” you can get all your services and products in one place. Of coarse, our first love is designing apparel etc. Adults/Kids Custom t-shirts, custom hoodies/jackets, custom jeans, and bling items. We also provide CPR training/classes, notary services, assist with business startups, printing services including all your business needs. Such as business cards, flyers, bags/totes, Logo designs, Logo hats, and more.
We have so many plans for the future. We are looking forward to expanding our services, owning our clothing store featuring our custom apparel for all ages and sizes.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Our Miller Outdoor Theatre here in Houston might be one of the best reasons to visit (and live in!) Houston. Also, the Discovery Green (great scenery) located in the heart of Downtown. Discovery Green, a 12-acre, multi-use park that always has something exciting happening. In the spring and fall, spend happy hour listening to local musicians perform live on stage, browse and buy from local craftsmen at monthly markets and, in the winter, enjoy ice skating on Kinder Lake. There are numerous restaurants and bars including Downtown, Midtown, Montrose, Washington Avenue and Rice Village. Houston’s nightlife scene is as diverse as it is vibrant with bars, dance clubs, etc. Let’s not forget our historic museums ,one of our faves is The Buffalo Soldiers Museum in which African Americans have served proudly in every great American war.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We have so many small black owned business friends and associates that we love to give a shoutout to them all. There is a long list of them we can’t name them all one by one. They inspire us daily whether from sending us a small encouragement message, placing an order, or just simply giving us a shoutout as well.
