We had the good fortune of connecting with Peri Maison and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Peri, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
NEVER give up! NO MATTER WHAT SITUATIONS,CIRCUMSTANCES OR OBSTACLES TRY TO INTERVENE AND INTERFERE,NEVER STOP PUSHING FORWARD.. Your dreams are real, don’t ever think you can’t accomplish them.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
*As a musician, we generally try to create pieces of work that define who we are and what we represent as beings. *My music entails my struggles, my success, good times and bad. I stay true to who I am, where I come from and the morals and priciples that I hold near and dear.
*Over the course of my career I’ve had a few mishaps that altered the course and timing of my success, but none the less I’ve continued to strive and push towards my mark.
*Along the way I’ve come to learn that nobody can win alone, we all need somebody and that its okay to accept help, help makes you stronger not weaker.
*If I could speak one thing of myself to the world it’d be that everything is authentic, 100%.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
To be honest, Houston is such a diverse city with so many wonderful places and beautiful things to see that i’d tell anyone who never been to just get out and explore. From Downtown, Midtown, even the historic 3rd ward district, there’s always something fun to do and good grub to eat for sure.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My team deserves major credit it the unfolding of my story. They keep me grounded, motivated and encouraged through highs and low’s. At this current point in my career I honestly can say it wouldn’t have been the same with out them. Major shoutout to them, ya’ll know who ya’ll are.
