We had the good fortune of connecting with Phoenix Malone and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Phoenix, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I think risk taking is one of the most important things anyone can do to be successful. Risk taking is the same thing as having faith depending on your perspective. In order to really grow you have to be willing to bridge your own gaps by doing the things that you cant predict the outcome of.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I won’t say professionally, but It was not easy to get where I am mentally. In creating and sharing anything it takes a large amount of courage, indifference, and passion. You have to both care about what people think of your art and not care about people think. It’s important to care about who’s receiving your creations in order build community but at the same time it’s important to be able to not take people’s opinions personally. I learned a long time ago treat everything on the internet like what it is which is a joke. I don’t take anything seriously on social media and that is the most powerful perspective to have when doing something that requires consistent posting on social media. I would want the world to know that I’ve made the progress that I’ve made by simply being myself. To be successful in whatever your goal is; yourself is all you ever need to be

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to all the chill places that I know about, I love to go to outside places. One of my favorite places is Axelrad. It’s an inside/outside bar with hammocks and they play videos on a big projector at night. After that we would just wing it I don’t really do itineraries.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
A book called The Game of Life and How to play it really helped my change my perspective. It is a self help book about how to take control of your perspective of life. The book highlights the importance of “imprinting” the right things onto your subconscious mind by way of affirmation and practicing better habits through use of the tools described in the book
