We had the good fortune of connecting with Prinston Hicks and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Prinston, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When I started my business, the world was very different. There were no business influencers sharing strategies or motivational speakers inspiring success stories. Since the age of six, I’ve always wanted to be an entrepreneur. Watching my grandmother work her entire life without fully enjoying the fruits of her labor after retirement motivated me to pursue a different path. While her life wasn’t bad or unsuccessful, I believed there was something greater waiting for me.

What should our readers know about your business?
About my company
We exist challenge traditional thinking to help people reach their full potential and live a life of freedom. As a agency, we like to say The Centiverse is a media agency that helps business reach their full potential through lead generation, customer acquisition, content creation, and organizational development. Our primary indicator of success in our work is the growth and well-being of the companies we serve.

I dropped out of college, not because it was hard or I struggled academically—I excelled, even teaching myself calculus in the library using the internet. The reason was simple. One day in a communications class, my teacher walked in, grinning, and slammed a stack of scripts on the desk. He proudly said, “This is how the world works. You send your scripts to Hollywood and hope they call you back.” Something about that didn’t sit right with me. I had been considering leaving school for a while, but that moment made my decision clear—I was done.

So, In a cramped backroom, I lay on my mother’s floor, staring at the ceiling fan, realizing my life was a complete disaster. I had dropped out of college to start my business, but I found myself back at home starting down my failure.

I read books, listened to gurus, attended seminars, and tried different business strategies, but I still was broke and an
absolute joke to my friends and family. Everyone wrote me off as a failure, and worst of all, I was starting to believe it
myself.

After creating my second failed business, I lay curled up in my closet, with my ego utterly shattered. That night, I surrendered completely. I didn’t care anymore about success or creating a business. I cried myself to sleep, but
something that to this day I can’t explain happened that night. In my sleep, I had a dream that delivered a message
that said, “You Create The World Around You.

Because of that, I shifted my whole perspective. I realized I was living life as a victim and blaming everyone for my circumstances. I began to understand that it wasn’t the skills I had or the knowledge I acquired that would create success. I would have to develop my personality. Honestly, I was not a pleasant person, and I was widely inconsistent.

I started a new company called The Centiverse with the sole purpose of helping people reach their full potential. I aggressively focused on removing all the traits holding me back and started focusing on helping others.

I eventually created a successful business and put my life back on track. I was able to have my first 6-figure year and move out of my mom’s house. Not to mention, I was helping other people realize their dreams. I set a goal to help create 1 million seven-figure businesses by helping others realize their dreams. And ever since then I have been building businesses and creating resources to help entrepreneurs be successful. I released books, mentored business owners, and vowed that the more successful I became, I would always throw down the ladder of success to others

I’m most proud of is my understanding of the mind and how it controls our results and through faith and focus we can accomplish anything

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
It really depends on their taste, but I have a well-organized list of amazing restaurants and locations (I like organizing things). If they enjoy partying, I’d connect them with The Incrowd, a company I’ve partnered with for years. They have access to the best nightlife spots in Houston, and they have to meet (TheWorldsMostHatedPromoter) my good friend Will. He’s the best promoter in Houston. People can argue with themselves on that lol.

If nightlife isn’t their thing, I’d suggest visiting the Museum District or catching a show downtown at the theater. There’s always something interesting happening there.

For a bar crawl, Washington Ave is the go-to spot.

When it comes to restaurants, it’s hard to narrow it down because Houston has so many incredible options—Brazilian, Mexican, Mediterranean, you name it. One place I’d definitely take them to is my brother’s vegan restaurant, Lindian’s Southern Vegan Kitchen. Even the most hardcore meat lover would enjoy his food.

On Friday, we’d go bowling at The Basement inside James Harden’s restaurant. The Incrowd hosts a bowling night there every weekend. If they’re into after-hours events, I might take them to Koya, an invite-only spot where celebrities often hang out.

If they’re into anime, there’s a fantastic anime-themed restaurant downtown. We could also visit Discovery Green to go ice skating in the winter or play mini-golf at Puttshack downtown.

I’ve worked with nightlife companies for years and can definitely show them a great time. But, if I’m being honest, I prefer a quiet night in or a relaxed evening out on the town.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Quite a few people! My grandmother and my mother (Cora Davis, and Linda Davis). Without their support, I couldn’t have gotten off the floor and started something for myself. My business partners Darrell Edmond Jr, and William Harwell. All my clients and supporters. Matthew Knowles (He mentored me for a brief period), and my favorite book of all Time “An Iron Will” by Orison Swett Marden
