We had the good fortune of connecting with Projectbabyjv and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Projectbabyjv, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
The way that I was brought up alone I believe helped shape and mold me into the Man that I am today. Having that “Never Give Up’” attitude installed in me at a young age, is something that I still live by till this day. I don’t believe in ‘giving up’ or I “cant” do it, I just keep trying until I find a way to make it work. And that’s a mindset I’d like to believe that all the greats have in common.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m an Independent Recording Artist that was born in New Orleans, Louisiana but grew up & spent majority of my years in the city of Houston, Tx. And I’ve been in the Music industry for almost four years now. Some may know me from my hit single “Kyrie Irving” and some may know me from my very first song “Top Shottas”, but I believe after this next Project the entire world will know my name.

What separates me apart from others I believe is simple, it’s not what I say, but HOW I say it. I’ve said it time and time again, at shows & performances and also throughout my music. Come to a Projectbabyjv show and you’ll be able to see firsthand why I’m “DA BIGGEST”.

What I’m most proud & excited about this year is to finally be able to debut my first official Album, “The Chosen One” which is set to drop this April. I’ve been working on this project for about 2.5-3 years and this is easily my best body of work. Some time last year I got asked by a fellow artist friend of mine “what makes or what made you know that you were in album mode?” And my answer was quite simple, the quality of music let me know that I was in this stage of my career called ‘album mode’. And As each song progressed and progressed, I was then able to realize that I was now doing the one thing I was supposed to be doing with the music all along, which was tell MY STORY.

I got to where I am today I believe simply by not giving up and being able to have tunnel vision. I’ve outgrown multiple people close to me such as friends, family and peers in the music industry. I’ve moved from my hometown I’m pursuit of chasing my dreams (which was the hardest thing I’ve had to do), and without the tunnel vision that I elaborated on earlier, if you cannot see past these obstacles you’ll be stuck forever.

Was it easy? Absolutely not. But just like a woman you just met, anything that comes off too easy 9/10 won’t work. What BabyFace Ray Say? “The route a lil longer when you out here living honest”

Some of the lessons that I’ve learned along the way are honestly lessons that I’ve learned at a young age. My father did a great job teaching me that not everyone is your friend early on. In the industry I choose to be apart of, you get to see that first hand. Everybody just wants a piece of the pie, but ultimately it’s up to me to determine/decide who gets the first slice.

What I want the world to know about me and my brand? Everything about myself & my upbringing will be explained in this Album “The Chosen One” set to drop in April 2024, tune in.
The way that I think, the way I was brought up, and the way that I view and see the world will be thoroughly explained in this album.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
A week with Projectbabyjv you say? Okay so first things first, we gotta hit the Mall because I LOVE to spend my money on clothes. So Galleria Mall in Houston, Tx, THEN all the shopping we plan on doing will work up an appetite, so we gotta eat right? Imma food truck guy so I’m taking you to the best foodtruck spot in the city @pardisfoodtruck. Best wings and pasta in the city man. Not really a big drinker like that but the lifestyle that I live kind of forces me to, so with that being said we’d probably end up at a nightclub in the city somewhere downtown for a show or performance after a studio session as far as where to drink. And Whenever I’m not doing anything music related I enjoy playing basketball. I’m a former hooper before the music so anywhere I can get a good hoop in I’m satisfied, definitely gotta come along with me to the hoop sessions.
For the most part though, music is my life and has been for the past 4 years now so a week with me will most likely be spent in the studio recording, shooting a video, maybe knocking out a feature or show and anything after that then we can have some fun. But all these things that I mentioned are fun to me, which is way I KNOW this is my purpose in life because I can get up every single day and do this with a smile on my face.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Personally I’d like to Thank my producer, Jamaal Anderson, for not only elevating my sound as an artist but also helping ME find my sound in the music industry. He’s the one and ONLY person in the world that can say they helped mold me into the artist that I am today. Without him, I am nothing. And I’d also like to give a special shout out to Myself, for being able to stay level headed, focused and determined in a world full of distractions and opportunists. And Lastly but not least I’d like to thank ALL of my supporters, I wouldn’t be Projectbabyjv without them.
