We had the good fortune of connecting with Renda Hoang and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Renda, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When I decided to start my breakfast restaurant, I wanted to create a welcoming space where people could start their day with delicious food and good company. I saw an opportunity to bring my love for breakfast cuisine to my community while also offering a unique dining experience. Additionally, I aimed to provide a menu that catered to various dietary preferences and lifestyles, ensuring that everyone could find something they enjoy.

What should our readers know about your business?
Nestled in the heart of Sugar Land, Texas, our nontraditional breakfast restaurant, Toast, stands as a beacon of culinary innovation. What sets us apart is our bold approach to breakfast classics, infusing them with unexpected flavors and modern twists. Yet, what I am most proud of is our resilience in the face of adversity, From humble beginnings and the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, we clung to our vision with unwavering determination. Despite the initial anonymity, we persevered, and now, four years later, we’ve gradually built a strong brand known for its creativity, and above all, delicious breakfast fare.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Big thanks to my amazing family for their constant support, love and encouragement as my husband, Tam and I opened our breakfast restaurant, despite our lack of experience. Their belief in us fueled this journey, from helping in the kitchen to being our biggest supporters. Grateful for each of them and the role they’ve played in making our dream a reality!
