We had the good fortune of connecting with Riah Michelle and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Riah, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
Its Hard to really find an answer to a question like this Because honestly you never know wether to actually keep going or give up. But for me Giving up is simply not an option. Even on the days when i’m tired and I don’t feel the urge to keep going I have to push myself because Giving up is easy initially, and then a year later your no farther then you where before, the only difference is life is still going, your still getting older but you’ve gotten nowhere and have accomplished nothing. And thats enough to help me remember everyday no matter what KEEP GOING. You will thank yourself in the end when you can sit back peacefully after pushing through and be happy that you acccomplished the thing.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Well I Consider myself a Pop artist . What’s sets me apart from other is my message . I love to talk about change, uplifting, and pushing through no matter what . Im excited for my growth as an artist . I cant wait until my music is worldwide and making a huge impact. I talk about things people can relate to in real life, just by telling my story. But as we all know your story can also be someones else’ s story so when you talk about yours they can relate and it helps them get through theirs and thats what i love to do let people know your not alone ! I got to where I am today through being consistent. There was a lot of people i’ve ran into along my path that have helped mold me into the artist I am today and i’m grateful for every single one of them .
It wasn’t an easy road at all but overcoming any challenge presented was the only option. Prayer got me through the tough times. And just knowing that i had to create a different story for my bloodline is what helped me to over come a lot of challenges, knowing that it’s on me to make a difference for my family and myself.
A major lessoned I’ve learned along the way is to Keep God First, pay attention, stay humble, always be willing to listen and change, and the biggest lessoned i’ve learned is to forgive and heal.
I want the world to know that Im just human and my music represents my story through my human experience and where I want to be and the change I want to see for myself. Im not perfect and Im not the person I want to be yet. But im working everyday for it .

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my bestfriend was visiting the city We would go out to Eat at Graces or Lost and Found,. Then we would have to hit up Main event im a goofball for arcades and games and just having fun lol . Maybe schedule an hour of horse back riding , or a walk through discovery green, and A trip to the art museum .

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a shoutout first to God of course because without Him i wouldn’t be where I am today. Second shoutout to my mom she’s literally. been there every step of the way supporting me, and cheering me on. Shoutout to my son he is the reason I keep going .I wanna give a Shoutout to my very first producer for showing me the ropes. And a big shoutout to friends for always showing up , showing love and support and knowing all the lyrics front row at my shows I love you guys 5L.
