We had the good fortune of connecting with Ridge Hardy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ridge, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
So I started the business alongside with my business partner Jerm with the mindset of wanting to make shows different from my past experiences. I was rapping for 6 years straight on an off and I experienced constant BS while performing. So I wanted to make a showcase that was strictly for the creative. I wanted to cater to my performers and give the the ultimate experience I could. Basically keeping the artist first and never making it about the money.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
So I am a creative director, basically I bring creatives in one room and create a networking space. Me and my team want these shows to get just as big as Coachella. By adding vendors we’ve created not only a showcase for artist but a full experience that we didn’t have at our beginning shows. Making sure our audience is catered to as well. Doing these shows aren’t easy but I believe if you stay ready you never have to get ready. Preparation is everything. Setting up proper systems to make things run smoothly helps us get from start to finish. We pride ourselves on promoting, that is one of our biggest factor. Again keeping the creative first. I want people to understand that whatever you believe in you can do it. Sounds cliché but it is definitely true. We started this in a small room and we aren’t where we wanna be but every venue has gotten bigger and will continue to. Keep going and keep investing. Life is truly what you make it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love Discovery Green. I would definitely take them around downtown and let them experience all that Houston has to offer and more. I would show them all the popup shops that are going on. Introduce them to the Turkey Leg Hut, Flower Child, and show them all the thrift stores on montrose. Houston culture is amazing.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The artist and vendors who trust me enough to continue to work with me. I give them the upmost respect. Without them showing up I’m just a guy paying for a venue.
