We had the good fortune of connecting with Riveria Wells and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Riveria, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process on starting my own business was lol I’m not gone lie it was a big challenge for me. I’ve been working since I was in high school. I was always an over achiever when it came to working at jobs then I realize I was getting bored with working a 9-5. and having a supervisor telling me what to do. What made me open my eyes to starting my own business when I had my first child. Little to no support, taking care of a fresh baby with no money. Let me tell you guys it wasn’t easy. After researching on ways to make money at home I decided to start my own graphic design business. It was definitely not as easy as I thought it would be. I really thought it was a piece of cake designing logos and some graphics here and there but i realize it was more to it than just designing logos and doing quick flyers. When it come to running a business it do takes some fundings even with designing. At the time my fiancé would help me out to make my dream come true. At first I didn’t have no research or no drive because all i was thinking was making a quick buck. I ended up taking things seriously as I start learning more about being in business. I had failed numerous of times , I had mental break downs but I never gave up it took me 3 years to finally open my eyes as becoming a brand/graphic designer.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a brand designer that is located in Tuscaloosa.Al hometown of the best college football team Roll Tide!
What set me apart for others is that i’m very confident that women make shit happen. I always set trends for my women even in the most minimal and classy way.
I always showed my clients they can be comfortable and be their selves with me . I build relationships and bonds over the years and they always trusted me in creating thier vision for them. I like to see my clients smile knowing that we are a team.
I learn being an entrepreneur is not easy but as I realize thought out these years it’s okay to be yourself and show up & show out for your brand for so long I always hide behind the scenes.
I want everyone to know that working with Sommore’ Brand Agency you made the right decision. Now that I been in business designing has been my passion and I never stop loving it to know that I can make people brands come to life.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love going out to eat and shopping in my home town we have this shopping center called midtown village with all types of shopping centers , restaurants and self care places. I go out there myself when I want to get out the house and get some fresh air. I recommend anyone who come to Ttown to stop by there you will love it!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First I want to give a big shoutout to my fiancé Corri, he been a huge support system and always believing in me. I want to thank my mom for always reminding me I always had a creative mindset and she knew I was so special and outgoing to own my own business, Thank you for raising me to be the best woman I can be. I also want to give out a shoutout to my design sister with our them I wouldn’t be who I am today I thank them for all the support and mentoring and to this day they still supporting me!
