We had the good fortune of connecting with Robin Beattie and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Robin, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I founded Roar Restaurant Marketing with a mission to help restaurants thrive in the ever-evolving digital landscape. I’ve seen firsthand how challenging it can be for restaurateurs to keep up with the rapid changes in digital marketing and advertising. My goal is to empower them to fully leverage their digital presence, ensuring they don’t just survive, but truly grow in an increasingly competitive market.
With over two decades of experience in marketing, I’m confident in my ability to craft effective strategies that deliver real results. My passion lies in helping restaurants navigate the complexities of the digital world, so they can focus on what they do best—serving great food and creating memorable experiences for their customers.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I founded two distinct but complementary agencies: Squeaky Wheel Branding & Marketing and Roar Restaurant Marketing. Our deep commitment to results-driven strategies and a relentless focus on delivering real value to our clients sets us apart. We we tailor our approach to meet each business’s unique needs, ensuring they stand out in a crowded market and thrive.
I’m incredibly proud of our impact, especially in the restaurant and hospitality industry, where we’ve helped numerous businesses grow and succeed in an increasingly digital world. Getting to where we are today has been a journey filled with challenges. Starting my own business after leaving corporate America was far from easy. There were moments of doubt and uncertainty, but I’ve learned that perseverance, adaptability, and surrounding yourself with the right people are vital in overcoming obstacles.
One of my biggest lessons is the importance of being flexible and open to change. The digital landscape constantly evolves, and staying ahead requires continuous learning and a willingness to pivot when necessary. It’s also taught me the value of building solid relationships with clients and understanding their vision as profoundly as they do.
What I want the world to know about my brand is that we’re not just another marketing agency. We’re passionate about making a real difference for the businesses we serve. Our story is one of dedication, innovation, and a commitment to helping our clients achieve their goals.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting Houston for a week, I’d plan a mix of culture, great food, and local experiences. Day one would include a visit downtown in the Museum District. We’d start with the Houston Museum of Natural Science and the Museum of Fine Arts, followed by lunch at Hungry’s in Rice Village, where I’d recommend the Kabob plate – yum! We’d stroll through Discovery Green in the evening and catch a show at the Alley Theatre.
Day two would be a visit to the Space Center, followed by a visit to Kemah Boardwalk for seafood and fun rides.
Day three would include exploring The Heights, including boutique shopping and art galleries, followed by an authentic Mexican meal at Ninfa’s Uptown.
Day four would be about culinary adventures with breakfast at New York Deli, a visit to the Houston Farmers Market, and a delicious Tex-Mex dinner at Alicia’s Mexican Grille with a margarita to top off the evening!
Day five would be a trip to Galveston, waking on the Seawall, visiting the Strand, and enjoying fresh seafood.
Day six would be a day trip to Lake Conroe and dinner at Dario’s Steakhouse & Seafood in Cypress.
Finally, day seven would be focused on relaxation with a spa day at the Fiori Spa.
This itinerary would give my friend a perfect taste of Houston’s culture, food, and vibrant energy.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Absolutely! My journey has been shaped by so many people’s incredible support and guidance, and I’m genuinely grateful for their contributions. First and foremost, I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my family, whose love and encouragement have been my foundation. My husband, Mark, has been my rock, always believing in me and supporting my dreams, even when the path was uncertain.
I also want to recognize my Squeaky Wheel Branding & Marketing and Roar Restaurant Marketing team. Their dedication, creativity, and hard work have been instrumental in turning our vision into reality.
Finally, a special shoutout to the mentors and friends who have offered invaluable advice and insight, helping me navigate challenges and grow personally and professionally. My journey wouldn’t be the same without each of these incredible people, and I’m deeply grateful for their impact on my life and career.
