We had the good fortune of connecting with Robin Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Robin, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
The habits I feel that have helped me to succeed in business is my faith in God, trusting the process, and becoming a lifelong student.

Being an entrepreneur is definitely a leap of faith! My business has been successful because I chose to put God first and lean on his support through prayer believing that with Him all things were possible on good days and not so good days and whether or not the business gained a new client or purchase. God is the Author and Finisher of my faith so since he gave me the idea, the expectation is that he will perfect everything that concerns me and bring it to pass. He’s got my back and my faith believes that God cannot fail.

Everyone is on a different path. Social media highlights all the glitz and glam, but the dirty work behind the scenes like the sleepless nights, wearing many hats, and the blood, sweat and tears as the saying goes are all part of the process. What I have come to recognize is that ‘she’ may get there faster with her process, and I may arrive a little later, but the process works if you work it. By investing in myself and the business, doing my due diligence and never quitting, only trusting the process ,that it will all work out for my good.

One habit that has definitely helped me to succeed is by becoming a lifelong learner. What was trending yesterday may not be beneficial today and it helps to always be in a flexible state of mind to learn., it ‘s a humbling state. To be a sponge soaking up what knowledge one can and apply it wherever necessary with wisdom is the key. It’s great to have knowledge, but if you don’t know the how or why, it’s of no use. Better yet, being a lifelong student you’re prone to ask questions and that’s a good thing! It’s okay not to know everything. If I don’t know, I don’t know, but I can find out and go to an expert, read a book, take a course, enroll in a seminar, invest in a coach and so forth to get what I need to continue a path of success.

A perfumer is an artist, chemist, and more importantly a storyteller. What sets me apart from other perfumers is I am unashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ and because of that my focus is on keeping the foundation of any endeavor Christian inspired and Biblically based for an exceptional experience for the client.

In addition, I am an Air Force veteran. The core value of integrity first, service before self and excellence in all that you do is a hallmark of
Getting to where I am today has been a lot of trial and error, humbling. Not easy at all. However, I am most proud of not giving up no matter what pressures or obstacles came up against me. Not only not giving up, but being able to finish.

In overcoming challenges I have learned it’s okay not to be okay. It’s not a bad thing to not know everything. I have learned how to literally let go and let God. When I do all that is within my power to do and relax in the promises that God will work it all out, that’s liberating against challenges that try to pin you down cause you to think of yourself as not enough. Prayer is my go-to which brings me to the point of being patient. Patient with others, the process, and patient with myself.

Tabahani Fragrances is more than a brand. It’s way of life. A life of faith, being forgiven and given a second chance or how much we are loved and cherished by God. You walk differently in life when you know who you are. Tabahani Fragrances is the sweet fragrance of Christ we as believers should embody to the rest of the world that will cause them to be drawn to Jesus.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
It’s funny you should ask that. I’m not a native of Houston, but when my friends and family come to town to visit, I’m always acting as a travel agent, full itinerary.

SPA Day: massage, manicure and pedicure
Shopping excursions: locally at the Katy Mills mall, small businesses, the Goodwill-yes, the Goodwill! Talk about bargains, you just have to know what you’re looking for and save all kinds of money.
Hanging out? Oh my goodness! There are so many places to choose from. My absolute favorite and the one I adore is One11, a beautiful upscale and elegant coffee shop in Katy. Crystal chandeliers, marble tables and tufted couches…the décor is gorgeous and the music vibe is chill. It’s a hidden gem if you want somewhere quite. They have the best desserts! It’s a great place to hang out with your girls or if you need a little ‘me’ time. I love Avant Garden (especially on open mic nights). I love the ambiance and chill atmosphere of the night garden. Oh, you have to go get dolled up for Cafe Poetes, an amazing French eatery. It feels like you’re in Paris and it’s woman owned! Another fun place to hang out is The Burger Joint. The best burgers in town with a patio vibe. I highly recommend the Menil museum too.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shoutout my family, friends and all of my clients and followers in addition to the coaches who have invested in me and believed in me. However, a special shoutout goes to my mother. My mom is my best friend and my biggest cheerleader.
