We had the good fortune of connecting with Ronny Haden and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ronny, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
My fav quote that I’ve actually been trying to live by more often is, “The development of good character brings sudden good fortune” Which to me, means exactly what it says! Doing things, whatever it might be in love and in a righteous manner, always brings prosperity to the people who consciously choose to do the right thing in life when they know they could easily do wrong.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I feel like what sets me apart from other makeup artist is my range,as far as being able to do beauty makeup but also special Fx makeup, or even combining the two! This year in April will make 2 years since I officially decided to start doing makeup professionally. When I analyze where I’m at with my buisness, “Ronny on the Beat”, I would say last year I took my buisness more seriously, and I seen results when I put effort into my buisness. It for sure has not been easy, especially when sometimes clientele might be slow, or your not feeling as confident in your work. Sometimes I can be my own worst critic! I’ve learned to understand consistency is KEY, and that it really does win the race ! I’m still learning and trying to perfect areas in my buisness where I can be better! It’s also not just about being able to do a face, it’s about all the other stuff that comes along with trying to run a business that you ultimately want to thrive! I want the world to know that “Ronny on the Beat” is a buisness I started because I genuinely felt in my heart I could and I did! I remember all the conversations I use to have with my ex partner about me really wanting to pursue becoming a makeup artist! And then one day I was presented with the opportunity and everything else is history, LITERALLY !
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Man it’s soooo much to do in Houston, I don’t even know where to begin! I feel that it all depends on what your vibe is! But I’m also not just the type of girl that just be out in the houston nightlife, but a couple of places I know of the top of my head is KAMP, Prospect Park, Nomad, Heart, The Address! Now food-wise coming from a foodie, Houston has so many good places to eat like, LA Crawfish Shack, Lotus Seafood, Yard House, Pappadeux, Dish Society. I could name so many more but this interview would never end! Lmao As far as interesting and fun places to visit would be Main Event, any museums whether it be arts or science, Discovery Green.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to S/O God without him none of this would be possible! Id also like to S/O my Ancestors without them leading to where I needed to start spiritually no telling where I’d be right now, I’m thankful for the blessings, for our connection we’ve built! Getting to know y’all helped me get to know me better ! S/O to my Iya, I love you so much, ever since we met, and I walked into the Sweet Love Sanctuary, I knew I was home! You have taught me so much, you show me love, and I am honored to be your God child!
