We had the good fortune of connecting with Rosa Vo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rosa, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
It is the amount of research and strategic thinking that goes into the creation of a successful design.
While many people may assume that graphic design is simply about making things look pretty, a lot of thought and planning goes into every aspect of the design process. This includes researching the target audience and their preferences, studying the competition, understanding the client’s goals and objectives, and determining the best visual language and design elements to communicate the intended message effectively.
Graphic designers are not only responsible for creating visually appealing designs but also for solving complex problems and communicating ideas effectively through design. The graphic design industry is a dynamic and constantly evolving field that requires a deep understanding of art, technology, marketing, and psychology, among other areas.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m an designer and artist, but I think I am more of artist since I like to express my artistic ideas better than incorporate others’ flavors. It’s not too easy but it went smoothly for me when I set finances a side and choose to do what I want. I start another hobby (pottery,) I don’t if I can sell my art but I still starting it anyway because I enjoy the process of making pottery. It’s hard for me to balance money and hobby, but I decided to do what I am called to do instead of being a slave of money
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Forth & Nomad is my favorite cafe to work and chill. The vibe is amazing and quite! I love city center as well, I go there for reading, shopping, and chilling.. The view is amazing!

The fine art museum is free until 9pm on Thursday. It has 4 buildings with diverse exhibitions, I have great experience whenever I come back to visit the museum.
The museum of Science is another great museum to visit
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Mike Meredith is one of the professors in my college that completely change my path and strategies. He has the most creative ways of teaching which is not focusing on studying only. He inspired us by telling stories of the industry that he has been experienced. They are not pretty like others think though, Disney is not a fairly tale for everyone. He also offered us the opportunities to explore the industry as well as give us some tricks. They are amazing overall, I love all animation professors at Lipscomb university.
Since that time, I was working for money only… I didn’t focus on my future or what i want to do.
Coco and Mike changed me, they awakened me so I quit jobs that doesn’t support my experience in Art and Design. That is the most crucial decision I have ever made, so I spent time to polish my portfolio instead.
Sarah at HCU also inspired me, she makes me realize that people will interest in my art if I am passionate about what I am doing. Since no one will listen to a baseball player who hates math and pretend to be passionate about it. If I don’t have the passion for my works, I cannot spread it out to no one
