Meet Rosecrans G | Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rosecrans G and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rosecrans, why did you pursue a creative career?
Growing up in Gardena, CA I was surrounded with an artistic family, My father was a dope sketch artist, both of my sisters are handy with there hands creating gift baskets and reefs for the holidays and my mother was a writer and assisted in writing an episode of Bewitched when she was a teen. My talent came in numerous forms, started drawing as a kid through high school, music production through college and ultimately photography now. Photography allows me to create a narrative from my perspective. Being able to capture precious moments that last a lifetime fuels me with every shoot.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m most proud of my consistency and focus in getting better everyday in my respective craft. Stepping out of my comfort zone was a challenge but due to past experiences, I knew that I would excel if I kept focus despite how uncomfortable I was. What I learned throughout this journey was practice makes perfect. Don’t be afraid to push yourself past your limits because every failure is a learning experience.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Houston is brunch capital of the world and home to some of the best food spots such as The Breakfast Klub, Lucille’s and Chapman and Kirby. The night scene is nice as well with places like The Address and Prospect Park. There are plenty of upscale restaurants like Mastro’s, Steak 48, and Kiss.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate this shoutout to my family. They planted this creative seed as a child and continues to grow today. Now that I have my own family, being creative is encouraged daily, rather though work, home or school, we all have talents that need to be explored.
