We had the good fortune of connecting with Roxanna “Zanna” Rosenbaum and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Roxanna “Zanna”, why did you pursue a creative career?
Dog grooming has always felt like the perfect outlet for my creativity, as it blends my passion for pets yet still requires an artistic eye for detail and composition. I feel I provide something meaningful everyday while still being able to use my hands to help every dog look and feel their best. I took my desire to care for my dog and blended it with my artistic aspects and ended up a dog groomer.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started with the intention to bring my level of pet care to as many dogs as I could. I have worked starting from a young age in a broad range of positions from professional kitchens to kennel management to pet stylist, and my carried experience combined with a growth seeking mindset has given me the keys to an integrated approach to pet care incorporating quality nutrition, dog behaviorism, and cutting edge veterinarian care in balance to maximize the happiness and longevity of your canine companion. I launched the Canine Clippery to bring a holistic dog grooming salon right to your front door, minimizing stress and maximizing convenience. Holistic dog grooming focuses on the overall well-being of the dog, including physical, as well as mental aspects combined with positive reinforcement training techniques to build a happy relationship between your pup and our groomer over time. With the Canine Clippery this integrated approach helps pet parents monitor their dog’s diet and exercise requirements by weighing your dog at each appointment. Mobile grooming in general helps moderate stress levels in addition to grooming services at your doorstep, but the Canine Clippery strives for growth and continues education by regularly attending classes and seminars at dog shows and by participating in AKc and NDGAA training and courses. The Canine Clippery not only implements stress-reducing techniques and personalized care based on the individual dog’s needs, we also prioritize quality products. Everything we use in the van is carefully selected for quality and safety, from the shampoo to the floor cleaner, and we stand by our ingredients.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
It’s thanks to the efforts of so many wonderful people in my life that I am where I am today. I’d really like to dedicate this shout out to my family. Without their support and faith in me I would never have had the belief in myself to be anything more than just a groomer. Specifically, I’d like to shout out my husband, the love of my life and best friend, Matthew Towne. The Canine Clippery would not exist without the help and wisdom of Paul Towne, whose faith in me gave me the spirit to embark on my own entrepreneurial journey. Elyse Vandermolen for giving me the joy of two very dear papillons and the opportunity to learn my trade when I moved back to Texas. Dawn Reed for letting me apprentice at her side, teaching me everything with patience and kindness. And last but most definitely not the least, my mother April Rosenbaum. She shaped the person I am today and shared her connection to and compassion for animals with me.
