We had the good fortune of connecting with Rozella White and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rozella, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
As the #LoveBigCoach, my singular focus is to nurture more life-giving and justice-seeking love in this world. I founded RHW Consulting LLC in 2016 and utilizing a Love Ethic, we develop creative solutions alongside clients who are navigating change, transition, and conflict by: – Clarifying their purpose
– Deepening their impact
– Leading boldly
– Living with passion
– Aligning values and beliefs with behaviors.
RHW Consulting LLC specializes in cultural competency, organizational alignment, conflict management, communication, and leadership steeped in a Love Ethic. We work with nonprofit organizations founded and led by women, Black, Indigenous People of Color, and LGBTQ+ leaders who address issues of injustice and are committed to embodying and operationalizing anti-racist ways of being, believing, and behaving. Our coaching is focused on bridging the gap between intent and impact by strengthening the identity and infrastructure in order to create healthy organizations.
My second business, Racial Healing & Wellness Coaching LLC was co-founded alongside my business partner Nicole Newman in 2021. We offer cohort-based coaching, content, and community for women dedicated to pursuing racial justice and committed to human flourishing. Our business exists to address the trauma that white supremacy culture has created in women. We work with white women, Black women, and non-Black women of color in ways that address their contexts and needs. White women need accountability as they discover and uncover the ways that their identity has been weaponized. Black women need refuge as they dismantle the beliefs that are deeply embedded in them about their worth and ability. Non-Black women of color need solidarity as they grapple with the way that anti-blackness shows up in their cultures and how they are conditioned to believe that proximity to whiteness is necessary to succeed.
Each company I create seeks to support people as they develop deeper connection with self and with others. I believe that love has the capacity to help and heal the world.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am just naive enough to believe – and now have over 40 years of experience to know – that love has the power to heal and transform us all. This is what makes me different and this is my superpower. I was always entrepreneurial but it wasn’t until I became an entrepreneur in 2016 that I realized I could be one who makes a social impact through my for-profit work. I wanted to create a life and build a legacy for my family that was made possible through my work in the world; work that invites people to restoration, healing and wholeness. This work is not just for individuals. It is work for the collective.
I am most proud of my unwavering belief in my dreams and visions. I have not only trusted the Divine wisdom that has been shared with me but I have stayed committed to the personal and professional work to create a life of meaning and connection.
My journey to where I am today is marked by all matter of highs and lows. From divorce to depression to disease to death, I have experienced so many lows. At some point in my journey, and with the help of practitioners and healers, I realized that the lows don’t define me or this life. They simply add to it, making it richer and more profound. Every low has gotten me in touch with my humanity, which then paves the way for me to connect with the humanity of others.
If we are living and paying attention, life is not easy. It was never meant to be. Life was meant to be meaningful and be an experience of feeling every thing. The only way that I’ve overcome any and every challenge has been through love of my people, my community. At every low point in my life, my people have loved be back from the bottom and reflected possibility and hope back to me when I struggled to believe.
On this journey so far, I’ve learned that community is essential, creativity sparks imagination, connection with self provides a firm foundation, and compassion invites us to wonder about ourselves and each other.
As the #LoveBigCoach, I work with individuals, teams, and organizations, providing a mix of services that are focused on helping people create new realities, be liberated from oppressive beliefs and behaviors, and experience holistic healing that brings about transformation.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love sharing my city with the people in my life. Any itinerary I create is going to center the amazing culinary landscape in Houston. Depending on what people are seeking, we will explore breweries, museums, live music venues, and find a spot to dance. Houston has so much to offer by way of diverse experiences and you honestly can’t go wrong, unless you are planning an outdoor event in the middle of summer!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Black, Indigenous, Women of Color have nurtured me to be the woman, creative, and leader I am today. I would not be here without the countless women who have mentored me and provided me with incredible support throughout my life.
