We had the good fortune of connecting with Ruth Galdamez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ruth, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?

My business is for the sole purpose of helping women be curious about their family of origin trauma. Curious enough with the purpose of healing through StoryWork.

What should our readers know about your business?

I had a long career in banking in the Houston area for 25 years. It was a career I did well in, with the support of a couple of mentors, who helped me thrive. I learned teamwork and how to read people. I also learned how to set up, promote and run an office administratively from scratch. I traveled to Mexico and Central America regularly to visit and maintain our high net worth clients portfolios. It was challenging work in a man driven career in the 80s and 90s but I loved every minute of it until I didn’t.

The beauty of having a supportive husband is that he encouraged me to pursue my dream no matter the cost. Therefore his love and my desire to give back led me to pursue my dream and calling of ministry to Women. My calling led me to the Allender Center and my studies and training helped me heal from sexual trauma as a child. I trained in narrative focus trauma and became certified.

Presently, I meet regularly with women from all walks of life that cannot afford therapy and I challenge them to go on a Journey of healing with God. This is the most fulfilling work I have ever done and this is what I want the world to know about me. Be curious enough about your family of Origen and God will lead you to understanding and healing.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

I would plan out a week of fun that I know she enjoys i.e.:

A Day Spa @ Woodhouse Spa Sugar Land

A Shopping Day trip to. Magnolia (Joanna Gaines) in Waco, Texas.

Grimaldi’s Pizza in Sugar Land Town Center

Visit Old Richmond Town Center for food, shopping and hang outs

A Day of Pottery – learning to throw at The Potters Place in Stafford, Tx.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

My husband Dr. Harold Galdamez for his never ending support.

The Allender Center – Dan Allender.. where my personal healing and understanding of my own trauma evolved.
